Kotobukiya Announces "Zero 1st Ver." Model Kit

After Monday’s tease, Kotobukiya officially announced a new Zero model kit today. As expected, it’s the first version of Zero from the original Mega Man X game.

Find all the details after the break!

Officially called "Zero 1st Ver.," this new version of Zero will be available for reservation starting tomorrow, September 4th.

This model kit will include the famous iron pipe used by Zero in his battle against Sigma during the events leading up to Mega Man X1. It will also come with three interchangeable face parts, marking the first time a Zero model kit includes faces with his gaze shifted to the left and right.

Other notable details include compatibility with the flowing hair parts from the Zero Nightmare Ver. and Black Zero model kits.

The Buster shares the same sculpt as the Mega Man X Full Armor, but the parts that were originally painted white have been changed to silver.

The ankle structure has been redesigned compared to the original Zero model kit, now using a 3-part configuration similar to that of the “Mega Man -Mega Man 11 Ver.-” kit. This makes the parts less prone to coming loose, making it easier to achieve stable poses.

Finally, Kotobukiya is planning to announce a new Mega Man X model kit in the near future, not forgetting that the Sigma model kit still does not have a release date.

If you want to see more images of this new Zero model kit, you can check them out here. We’ll keep you updated when reservations open tomorrow!

  2. I like it. But I am a bit miffed. Why do they insist on not including the improved hair piece? Also, I doubt very much the ankles have been "fixed" if that's the same part that snaps in the foot. We can't tell in that view. Did you notice he comes with a head gem with the "W" in it? That's a neat thing.

I lost the bet. Here is one 🍪.
It's been a year and we still have not seen Sigma in color, yet we got this in full color in 3 days. That makes all the sense in the world. But, that being said, the inclusion of the pipe might lead to Sigma either having options or a more likely second release as Commander Sigma. All you need to do is swap the knees, wrists and head and you have it. Maybe Sigma will be a deluxe kit. He's likely going to be expensive due to size anyway. Might as well add in a few more bits. They probably won't, though.

  3. I already have his D-Arts figure from Bandai, but this kit is tempting with the pipe and the "W" headpiece.
