First Look at X in Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat

As previously reported, X is coming to Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat as a playable Hunter. With the collaboration seemingly set to launch tomorrow, August 6, NebulaJoy has dropped the teaser trailer above, showing X tearing through enemies to the tune of “Devil Trigger.”

To recap, the collaboration brings alternate looks for X, including his classic blue appearance, the “Tribute to the Fallen” skin unlocked through Hunter progression, and the event-based “SE DIVE VER.” skin. He’ll also wield a new weapon, the Sniper Buster.

Elsewhere, players can collect five Mega Man X-themed Runes and take part in a new event called “DiVE Deep,” featuring three story chapters and a showdown with Sigma. A new Boss Hunt opponent and additional limited-time event content are also part of the collaboration.

On the heels of yesterday’s tease, NebulaJoy has confirmed that X is joining Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat as a playable Hunter as part of the game’s Version 2.19 collaboration update.

The collaboration includes several alternate looks for X as well. Among them are his classic blue appearance, the “Tribute to the Fallen” outfit earned through Hunter progression, and the “SE DIVE VER.” skin obtainable through events.  X also comes equipped with a new weapon, the Sniper Buster, available through a dedicated Weapon Prayer. The Sniper Buster also has its own “Ultimate Blast” skin tied to weapon progression.

Players will additionally be able to collect five X-series Runes, while a new themed event titled “DiVE Deep” features three story chapters and a battle against Sigma. The update also adds a new Boss Hunt opponent and other limited-time event content.

Mega Man X and Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat Collaboration Teased

NebulaJoy has released a cryptic teaser trailer for Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat that appears to hint at an upcoming collaboration with Mega Man X.

The trailer stops short of confirming whether X will join the game as a playable guest character or if the crossover will be limited to Mega Man X-inspired equipment and cosmetics.

That’s all we have to go on for now. We’ll share more details when NebulaJoy finally pulls back the curtain.

Rockman Starter Deck Announced for Z/X Trading Card Game

Our indelible blue bomber is getting the trading card game treatment with a new collaboration planned for Z/X: Zillions of enemy X in 2027.

According to the official Z/X Twitter account, the collaboration will include a Rockman-themed Start Dash Deck, a preconstructed deck designed to help players jump into the game. The cards will be based on characters from the X, EXE and Shooting Star series. Curiously, the ZX series is absent from the lineup, despite feeling like a natural fit based on the name alone.

For those unfamiliar, Z/X: Zillions of enemy X is a Japanese collectible card game produced by Broccoli in collaboration with Nippon Ichi Software. The game launched in 2012 and pits players against one another using decks built around characters and creatures known as Z/X. A small collection of classic series cards were released several years ago, in fact!

Additional details, including the price and release date, have not been announced. More info as it comes!

Rockman EXE and Quiz RPG Collaboration Announced

With Shooting Star Rockman back in the spotlight, it’s a little surprising to see Capcom give Rockman EXE the collaboration treatment right now. But here we are.

Japanese mobile card-battling game Quiz RPG: The World of Mystic Wiz and The Black Cat has announced a new Rockman EXE collaboration event with Capcom. The event will feature a themed quest called "Rockman EXE Operation Genma Special Zone," along with EXE-themed gacha and a Quiz Rush mode based on the series.

The collaboration is set to begin on May 29th, 2026.

Unfortunately, Quiz RPG: The World of Mystic Wiz and The Black is not available in English, so fans overseas will have to enjoy this one from afar. For now, you can check out the event's main key art and screenshot above.

Mega Man Coming to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds as DLC

Early copies of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds are surfacing as some retailers appear to be breaking the street date ahead of its official September 25th release. Inside the case, a postcard reportedly reveals the final paid DLC pack: Mega Man. Judging by the logo, it appears to be none other than the classic series Blue Bomber.

Fans have been hoping Mega Man would make the cut ever since CrossWorlds was first announced, especially after years of official but non-game crossovers with Sonic the Hedgehog—the most notable being the Archie Comics Worlds Collide saga. If this insert is genuine, CrossWorlds would mark the first time Mega Man and Sonic appear together in a major Sonic title.

Stay tuned for updates!

Rockman x The Legend of the Three Kingdoms Online Story Synopsis

Last month, a crossover event between Rockman and the Taiwan-exclusive MMO The Legend of the Three Kingdoms Online was announced to... well, little fanfare. It’s the latest in a long line of unusual, seemingly random collaborations with little relevance to fans outside its country of origin. Still, for the sake of posterity, it’s our duty to document its place in Rockman’s proverbial history books. So, for your consideration, here’s a complete summary of the crossover’s plot.

Mega Man Was Once Considered for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games 2020

According to Mario & Sonic series producer Lee Cocker, Sega and Nintendo originally envisioned Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 as a full-blown “Video Game All-Stars” crossover, bringing together characters from other IPs—including Mega Man.

In a recent exchange on Twitter, Cocker revealed that the original concept for the game was to include a wide range of iconic characters—not just from the worlds of Mario and Sonic, but from across the gaming industry. That lineup included Mega ManPokémonStreet FighterMetal Gear Solid, and even select Sony and Microsoft properties. The idea was that certain characters would appear only in specific Olympic events, creating a crossover experience tailored to each character’s unique traits.

Unfortunately, the plan never came to fruition. “Lots of the deals/agreements couldn’t be agreed, which was a shame,” Cocker explained, “so it went back to just being Mario and Sonic.”

Still, it’s exciting to know that Mega Man was considered for a leading role in what could have been one of gaming’s most ambitious crossovers to date.

Rockman x The Legend of Three Kingdoms Online Collaboration Event Announced

UserJoy Technology is celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Legend of Three Kingdoms Online with a crossover event with none other than Rockman. Set to launch on July 31st, the collaboration brings classic series character into the long-running Taiwanese MMORPG through officially licensed in-game content.

Players can look forward to a lineup of avatars based on classic characters like Rockman, Blues, and Forte, all reimagined in a 3D style that evokes their original 8-bit designs. The event also includes themed bosses and a Rush-inspired mount (you can see Dr. Wily riding along for the chaos above). A brand-new server will launch the same day, giving new and returning players a chance to jump in with bonus rewards and a clean slate.

While The Legend of Three Kingdoms Online is technically playable outside of Taiwan, it does not support English. For many of us, this will be one of those obscure, region-locked collaborations we’ll have to enjoy from afar through secondhand footage.

Rockman and Pandoland Collaboration Event Gameplay

Last week, we learned that Game Freak’s mobile game Pandoland is hosting a Rockman collaboration event, exclusive to Japan until March 14th. The event features several Rockman characters and a special Robot Island. Since there's a chance the event won't return when the game launches globally in April, I’ve collected some gameplay footage for posterity.

Collaboration Event Between Rockman and Game Freak's Pandoland Announced

Game Freak, the developers behind Pokémon, have announced a collaboration event with Rockman in their free-to-play mobile RPG, Pandoland

While details remain somewhat vague, the event—running from February 28th to March 14th—will introduce several classic series characters, including Rockman, Blues, and Forte. Players will be able to explore an event-exclusive "Robot Island" alongside Rockman and friends, facing off against Dr. Wily and some familiar Robot Masters.

Pandoland is currently available in Japan and is set for a global release this April. Unfortunately, the Rockman event will have concluded by then, meaning those outside Japan will have to rely on gameplay footage and screenshots to get our fill. We'll have some of that to share later this week.

You can find out more about Pandoland from the game's official site. Pre-registration for the English version is now open on the Google Play Store.

Lego Mega Man Was Almost in Lego Dimensions

Lost Media Busters has released a detailed video uncovering a treasure trove of never-before-seen scrapped content from Lego Dimensions, the 2015 "toys-to-life" video game that continues to enjoy a dedicated fanbase. Among the many unrealized ideas and characters revealed in a series of documents is the surprising revelation that Mega Man was once planned to be both a playable character and the recipient of his very own official Lego minifigure.

According to materials from the canceled expansion called Lego Opus, Mega Man was planned to debut as part of the Wave 3 lineup in March 2017 as a "fun pack," which would include one vehicle (possibly Rush). Scanning the figure through the Lego Gateway would have made Mega Man playable in the game and unlocked an Adventure World hub called "Gaming Icons." While the hub wasn't intended to focus solely on the Blue Bomber, it likely would have featured characters from other video game IPs.

Interestingly, Mega Man’s inclusion in Lego Dimensions would have come just a few years after the Worlds Collide saga—a 12-part crossover with Archie Comics’ Sonic the Hedgehog. It’s easy to imagine these two characters crossing paths once more in the game, perhaps through special cutscenes or events. While the leaked documents offer no evidence that such interactions were planned, the thought is a bittersweet possability.

With so much licensed merchandise under its belt, the Mega Man IP has been practically begging for the Lego treatment—and this discovery proves it came close! Perhaps one day, they'll finally make it happen.

Mega Man x Brawlhalla Crossover Event Starts Today

As previously announced, the Mega Man event in Brawlhalla begins today, September 25th. The crossover introduces a Mega Man skin inspired by his design from Mega Man 11, along with various themed power-ups, cosmetics, and a couple of avatars. Rush and Beat also make prominent appearances throughout the event.

The Mega Man skin costs 400 Mammoth Coins, the currency used for unlocking skins, DLC, and more. It, along with its cosmetics, will stay in the Brawlhalla store indefinitely, so there's no risk of it being removed. If you're interested but can't afford it now, you won't have to worry about missing out. If you have zero interest in this, well, the announcement trailer is worth a watch for the animation alone.

Brawlhalla is available on all major home consoles, PC, iOS, and Android.
