Although the Kickstarter campaign was successful and the project cleared all of Capcom’s certifications and approvals, the game never saw a public release. Whether it’s been canceled or simply delayed is still unclear. In the meantime, project artist Hector Moran recently shared renders and images of many of the planned mini figures. Check 'em out below!
While it’s disappointing that the board game may never see the light of day, Hector remains optimistic that his work could resurface in another form someday. They're really great pieces of work!
For a closer look at the mini figures, you can browse the full gallery on Hector’s ArtStation portfolio here.
Gotta say, I don’t like Proto Man getting paired with Tango. Just feels like pairing up the two leftovers that otherwise don’t have anything to do with each other. At least Roll had a Beat car in BnC!
ReplyDeleteI could be wrong here, but I think it might be a reference to Mega Man 10 where Tango shows up in the shop when you are playing as Protoman.
DeleteI’ll admit, I totally forgot that. Still don’t super like it. Would rather Eddie (at least they’re both red guys who give Mega Man items).
DeleteIf nothing else, their colors go well together.
Fair enough. I wouldn't have minded either option. I guess Tango probably would be more fitting for Auto, though I don't think he would have been very likely to have a game piece.
DeleteStill, fun to speculate every now and then.
it's a reference to Gigamix, where Tango was Proto Man's pet
DeleteA fair criticism. I dig it though, I think they look pretty rad together
DeleteDamn these are pretty sick, I wish it got released
ReplyDeleteIf this board game ever releases, I'll get it for the figures alone. I'm ok about Tango paired with Blues and I've never seen any official Tango figures (released or not) aside from this one.
