Zero Collection On June 8th (Update)

It's official: Mega Man Zero Collection will arrive on North American store shelves on June 8th for $29.99, according to a press release put out by Capcom today.

High-res boxart!

"We are mega busting with joy to announce that Mega Man Zero Collection for Nintendo DS is shipping on June 8th to all retailers in North America. This exciting new release includes all four Mega Man ZERO games previously released for GameBoy® Advance on one DS cart. Mega Man Zero Collection will be available for the low price of $29.99.

The first Mega Man ZERO game was released in 2002. It featured Zero, a popular Capcom character that was introduced in the Mega Man® X series. The Mega Man ZERO series follows Zero through a dark and thrilling 2D action-adventure with high-quality visuals and action. Users can expect to make use of Zero’s trademarks weapons like the Z-sabor and Buster Shot. There will also be interesting devices like the Chain Rod and Zero Knuckle. For the first time, the Mega Man ZERO series will be available for Nintendo DS™, complete with all-new modes.

Whether its reliving Mega Man ZERO memories or simply feeding that 2D action craving, Mega Man Zero Collection is definitely a must-have for your Nintendo DS collection. Expect new modes like “easy scenario” which provide a much more forgiving cyber-busting experience without holding back any of the fun.

We got big plans in store for Capcom Unity and Mega Man Zero Collection! We're also launching the official Mega Man Zero Collection website later today, so stay tuned for more details!

Pre-order your copy at Capcom's online store or wherever games are sold.

UPDATE: Official site is live.

  1. Who the hell writes these press releases? How did someone not look at that and say, "you know, MAYBE we should decide on 'Zero' or 'ZERO' and stay consistent with it, whether we know which one is correct or not."

    Damn.

  6. Like I said before, I'm actually thinking about buying this when it's released. It's not exactly my top priority or anything, but I might just give it a shot.

  7. "Easy scenario".
Oh, so it'd play like an MMX game?
    Consider me interested.

Also, I don't know how inaccurate the Cyber-busting is; remember, the Cyber Elves and Z3's Cyberspace mode at least cover their rears a little.

  8. I would say that the English Zero Collection site is ridiculously useless compared to the Japanese one, but actually, the Japanese site blows too. Has more information and features, but navigating it is a chore.

  9. If the only new feature to the gameplay is "Easy Mode", I will be severely disappoint.

...not that I won't buy it anyways...

  12. @Anon with the Z-Sabor:

If you had Zero 3, EXE 4, and two GBAs with a link cable, you could get a Z-Saber in the EXE 4 game.

I vaugely recall seeing the Z-Saber get hilariously mispelled into Z-Saver in EXE 4 though. My friends wouldn't stop making jokes about it for about a week after we all got the battlechip.

  13. I still remember calling Star Wars' light sabers "Light savers" when I was little. And Darth Vader was Dark Vader.

I had Zero 1 when it came out. Was too hard for me. I'm thinking about picking this up and hoping my gaming skills have improved with age.

  14. @Alilatias:

Now that you mention it, the Z-Saber was misspelled as "Z-Saver" in Mega Man X5, as well. It was spelt that way during the third Zero stage, when Dr. Light was describing the capabilities of the black armor enhancement.

  16. Hmm, even if there is no new content, I might still play it anyway, just because when I first played the Zero games I used save-states, so it's basically cheating. >_< I have since beaten the first Zero game legit (and it was much easier the second time around, probably because I had just played X7 and X8 before then, which I guess amounted to "practice"), but not the others, so I think I'd still like to give this one a go.
