New Live Action Mega Man Fan-Film Trailer

Director Eddie Lebron promised a new trailer for his upcoming live action Mega Man fan-film, and well, he delivered. Check out it below:

The film, slated to premiere May 1st in New York followed by an online release May 7th, has been in production since November 2008. It's all finally coming together and looks pretty good, IMHO. Your thoughts? Excited or could you care less?

For more information, check out the film's official site here. Thanks, Craig.

  1. Alright, I don't care what kind of crap people will give me for saying this.

  2. Wow, at first I thought wouldn't turn out well but he really put a lot of work into this. I hope to view the full movie someday.

  4. best trailer yet. looks phenomenal.

  5. Looks like a group of hockey players and their mascot engaging in fisticuffs.

    Or cyclists with superpowers.

You can clearly see the "fan" part of this fan-movie.

Dr Wily looks pretty bad, and the guy they casted as Mega Man...Eck.

    This trailer makes me cringe.

  6. Trailer regardless, that orchestrated MM2 Wily Stage 1 is bloody epic.

    That's the definition of epic.

  7. I dunno, I think it looks pretty cool. I mean come on, you're not gonna get very close to the games in reality. MAYBE if they had picked a little kid instead of an adult is the only thing I can think of. I don't think it's nearly as bad as the Ruby Spears cartoon. Plus the music sounds AWESOME. I WANT that soundtrack!

  8. My reaction? I can't wait to see Mid-90s Nickelodeon Actors LARPing: The Movie: The Game: The Movie.

  9. I think the guy playing Wily is pretty good. He's got a good look to him. There has been a lot of work done to this film, I remember seeing some footage a while back and it's definitely cleaned up! I'm hoping to see it as well!

    @Hypercoyote: Amazing screen name

  10. Looks goofy, but I'll give it a watch. I could do without the over-dramatic music.

  11. I don't think I will be seeing the movie. But it is good to see that dinner theater actors are getting work.

  13. Considering the rather-limited budget Lebron and his team had, I think this is turning out to be something worth watching. Sure, it isn't going to make all MM fans happy, but it's definitely something that shows effort and dedication. Plus, you don't have to watch it if you don't wish to. :P

  14. Honestly? This is a gonna be a goddamn mess. It'll be fun to watch in a "so bad it's awesome" kind of way, though.

  15. I doubt it will be much more than corny, but it'll still beat out anything Hollywood could produce in terms of respect for the source material.

  16. The Robot Masters look neat, but I still think they should have made Mega Man a teenager at the very least, not a middle age Asian man.

You can definitely tell it's a fan film, but in my opinion, it looks great. I can't wait to see it. I have a feeling all the people fussing about how horrible it looks are going to eat their virtual words once the movie is actually released.

  18. Looks Awesome! To those who have a problem with it, why don't you take a couple thousand and put your money where your mouth is! Go Eddie!

More like the definition of overrated.

  20. Cant wait to see this. I smiled at the trailer. I wish it would have been a bit longer though. /.w.\

  21. Isn't a trailer supposed to make you want to see a movie? Why did it have the exact opposite effect...?

    ReplyDelete
  22. People who cringe can keep on cringing while they watch the movie then, because you know they are going to. Why? Because deep down, no one can deny that this is quite possibly the best fan-made video game film in history. Hell, it tops even some "official" video game movies! I think the acting is better than most, the CG is excellent for fan-made, the production value is pretty professional considering is personal budget. If this was released in national theatres, I would go see it in a heartbeat. From the looks of both trailers so far, I think it will deserve it. Although we know it wont happen, but thats why a fan-movie is for the fans, by the fans. Mainstream can kiss it! I am looking forward to this film and wish Eddie Lebron the best of luck in the future. I see him and his crew going great places!

  25. I'm just wondering why there's wily stage 1 music from megaman 2 in a movie trailer of megaman 1. I think the wily stage music from megaman 1 could've been better perhaps. Like the one where you face the yellow devil at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  26. It looks good. I believe some fans are whining because they wanted Mega Man look like this:

  27. Man, this movies looks like crap. People are definetly going to go see Iron Man 2 rather than this shit.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I dunno. Something seems "off." Maybe it's the fact that Megaman's helmet doesn't look quite right or that fireman doesn't have a flame on his head or SOMETHING.
The fact that Rock is not a kid or even a teenager...I can live with it. The actor has enough of a "baby face" to be passable.
Of course, I'll end up watching it. Eventually.

  29. @ Roy L

Megaman 2 has the most recognizable and rememberable music. It's no doubt that Wily stage 1 from MM2 was by far the best Wily music. I'm sure it was used because it's the most recognizable.

    ReplyDelete
  30. God, I got goosebumps when the music kicked in. SO READY FOR THIS!

    ReplyDelete
  31. - Looks promising, the Wily's theme is fantastic. :)

  32. Ultimate-top-high-ultra-epic-facepalm!!...

  33. To all you haters out there, it's a fan-film. Not even comparable to Iron Man 2 in the least bit. I'm with MegaMac, this movie will probably blow away other video game movies. Yeah, the costumes aren't top quality, but remember, Eddie Lebron is not making money off this, he can't because it's not his IP. All the money he's poured into this was strictly for fun. I think he's done a outstanding job given what he had to work with. And like someone else said, probably he's stayed truer to the games than any movie company ever would have. I hope some studios take notice to Eddie, I'll definitely be watching for him in Hollywood soon.

  34. "Because deep down, no one can deny that this is quite possibly the best fan-made video game film in history. Hell, it tops even some "official" video game movies!"

I'm not sure how this statement can be made. If only because it's not out yet. We'll just forget that there are several fan films that don't exude quite so much kitschy crappiness just in the trailer.

And to the comment about being the best that can be done with the given budget--the sentiment is all well and good, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still pretty bad.

I would love to make a movie like this! But I certainly wouldn't pretend it wasn't terrible. :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. all the haters, the door is right there. if you hate it so much, then why are you keeping tabs on it and commenting on it? You will most likely see it, and even if you still hate it, will keep talking about it afterwards. you really just like it but dont want to admit it.

Also, it somewhat upsets me that Eddie would choose the localized version of the Megaman story... (the Wily and Light were partners thing) considering tht that wasnt the real story. but I can admit the fact that in a movie, a story like that fits far better than Wily popping up out of nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  36. - I hope Eddie releases the movie soundtrack: the Wily theme is fantastic! :)

  37. I think the haters are just jealous that they don't have the resources to make their own.

This movie looks amazing for fan made I can't wait to see yellow devil.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Flame, have you ever complained in your life about anything? You don't have to like something to be able to comment on it and want your opinion heard. Because in that case, all politicians would have walked out on their jobs. ;p

  39. "I think the haters are just jealous that they don't have the resources to make their own."

More like frustrated that the pros don't have permission or the inclination to. :( This is a wait and see-er for me.

  40. For those who are waiting to see this "movie", check this website in the meantime:

    You´re gonna love it

  41. Wow, this movie looks really great for a fan-made film. Eddie is doing a great job, and I hope he keeps up to good work. I will admit that there are bunch of things I could nitpick on, but since it's a fan-film with a limited budget there is no point. I'd like to see someone do better than Eddie, which looks like it would be pretty hard to do. =P Seeing this trailer though has put me on the edge of my seat of "I so can't wait for this to come out!"

On a side note, I know I don't comment on here much and I mean no offense, but seriously kotipeltox, you're not funny. And on a curious note I ask you, Protodude, why do you still filter his/her comments through if all kotipeltox does is troll? =^/

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow.. this movies looks like crap and ugly.

    ReplyDelete
  43. "More like frustrated that the pros don't have permission or the inclination to. :( This is a wait and see-er for me."

These "pros" you speak of would have had Rock start out as a emo-teenager at a high school (who couldn't get girls BTW) and then some freak accident would happen forcing Dr.Light to rebuild him into the super cyborg Megaman. Dr Wily would build the 6 industrial robots, but in the movie they would be combat robots. Then to end it all Dr. Wily would turn into a giant battle robot at the end while Rock finally gets the girl after defeating him.

I think I'll stick to the fan-made for the fans true as you can get the real story film, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @JinzoNingenX: Whereas in the fan film, it doesn't matter that the main character is not emo because you can't see through all the crappy acting and terrible wigs and costumes. And though they may not be called combat robots, they look crappy enough to be this imaginary thing that you seem to think is bad. Aren't costumes that look like the suits in the games just as important as calling the robot masters robot masters?

All those assumptions aren't necessarily true anyway.

I'll stick to good movie making and bearable acting, thank you.

  45. @MegamanXTi:

    "kotipeltox DOES is troll"

    Oh my...god!

  46. MegaMac:

I am curious, what fan films have you ever seen ever? This is not even close to the best. Way better fan films have been made with less budget and less time. Seriously, it is taking this guy around two years to finish this. This is film is taking way more time than most professional movies do.

    Flame:

Are you stupid? We all are obviously going to Protodude's Rockman Corner for Mega Man news. If we were trolling Eddie Lebron's blog that would be entirely different. As for commenting, people have entirely stupid reasons for hating people who hate this movie so far.

"I think the haters are just jealous that they don't have the resources to make their own."

Seriously? I don't have the resources to make an airplane either. I am not jealous over all of those airplanes being made. Nor am I jealous of the ones crashing and burning.

I'm opting out on seeing this movie. You continue and think of ways of why people hate this movie other than "they think it looks bad".

    ReplyDelete
  47. Don't most movies take about 2 years or even more to complete? Heck, Avatar took 10 didn't it? Granted it's not really comparable, just sayin....

  48. @kotipeltox:
    "kotipeltox DOES is troll"
    You're really cluesless aren't you?
    This is what was said:
"Protodude, why do you still filter his/her comments through if all kotipeltox does is troll?"

You are stupid for not reading the entire comment or at the very least for the attempted slur. You tried to make it seem as though MegamanXTi made a grammatical error when in fact he/she made no such error.

You are being a pompous jerk and while you can express your displeasures about the Megaman news you have zero right to be downing everyone else’s opinion and/or being obnoxious. If you are going to say something sucks you must have a reason to support this statement. It could be the acting, script, music, costume designs and/or the CG.
All of which I personally like, except for Ice Man because I think he should have at the very least had hoodie.

You will either respond by putting a link to fail blog in your comment or another related website or you will post trying to insult me by weak name calling or a completely irrevelvant subject. Quite possibly you will chose to not respond only proving that you do not have the ability create a constructive and well thought-out comment and that you are indeed trolling.

    ReplyDelete
  49. @Anonymous that responded to me:

First off that "bearable" acting would only be telling crappy a story.
    They would rape the characters.

As for costumes, they would be WORSE in the big Hollywood movie (do I need to bring up Spider-man's Green Goblin?)

Non of the characters would have the personality's of their counterpart (DBE's Goku anyone?)

And last but not least I have five words for you:

    SUPER MARIO BROS. THE MOVIE

Yeah remember that videogame based movie?

Eddie's Megaman is gonna ROCK just for story alone, and there is no way in hell Hollywood greed could do any better.
