Capcom’s Late ’90s Daily Diary Images Have Been Preserved

Back in the late '90s, Capcom's Japanese website hosted a neat little feature called the Capcom Daily Diary.

Running from October 6, 1997 to October 1, 1999, the page was updated by various Capcom staff members with short entries, behind-the-scenes photos and plenty of doodles. The timing is especially interesting for Mega Man fans, as the diary launched during the series' 10th anniversary and overlapped with the development and release of Mega Man Legends, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne and Rockman Complete Works 1~6.

While many of the diary entries can still be read through the Wayback Machine, most of the images that originally accompanied them were not preserved. Thankfully, the images haven't been completely lost to time. A large handful of surviving images from the Capcom Daily Diary were generously donated to Rockman Corner by reader Ravi, and we've put them together in a Drive archive for anyone who wants to browse through them here: the Capcom Daily Diary image archive

There's a lot to dig through here beyond Mega Man, making it a fun little snapshot of Capcom's late '90s crew just doing their thing.  And if anyone recognizes something in these photos, has a little more context to add, or knows of anything we're missing, definitely feel free to reach out.
