Capcom has released a brand-new trailer for Mega Man: Dual Override at Gamescom 2026. The trailer showcases several new stages and features, including our first look at an all-new Robot Master, Twinkle Girl, and the return of... Astro Man?
Other highlights include Proto Man, sporting an all-new look, and a new gameplay mechanic called Custom Chips. According to Capcom, these chips can be used to "modify Mega Man's abilities and tap into overwhelming power through the new Override System."
We also have a brief story synopsis:
"Robots are running rampant at the Robot exhibition in Dr. Light's absence, and it's up to Mega Man and Proto Man to rise to the challenge to restore peace to the city. Override your limits and uncover the truth behind the incident!"
To top things off, Capcom also confirmed that a new Mega Man-themed skin pack is coming to Pragmata later this year. The costume was originally teased as an April Fool’s joke earlier this year.
We'll have more news and footage of Dual Override all this week. Stay tuned!
FUCK YESSSS
ReplyDelete"Twinkle Girl"? I think this might be the first time a canon robot master's name has had a youthful connotation to it. I certainly don't remember anything with "Boy" in the name in prior games.
ReplyDeleteProbably because she is the youngest Robot Master ever created.
DeleteAstroman returning makes me wonder if returning robot masters are gonna be paired with whatever new robot masters they may theme/match with the most.. Searchman returning along side the new robot master that looks like they have two heads 🥹🥹🥹?? One can dream 🥹🥹
ReplyDeleteI LOVE GIRL ROBOT MASTERS WOOOO MORE WOMEN YEAAAHHHHHHH
ReplyDeleteAwesome. My only real gripe so far, is that they still haven't shown Proto Man in action yet, for whatever reason. Hopefully, that'll change during tomorrow's event. Of course, I'm also still hoping for Bass to be in the game also, but if he is, we probably won't get any word about that until the game is close to release, much like Mega Man 10.
ReplyDeleteAstro Man's presence is also quite interesting. My guess is that this is either something similar to what was done with Cut Man and Wood Man in the Sega Saturn version of Mega Man 8, or it may be a scenario like the Mega Man Killers in MM10, with throwback stages from past games, complete with being able to obtain their weapons. Either one is fine, but I'm hoping for the latter.
It also could be like the robot museum from 7 when Wily steals Gutsman and we see all the RM's in the background or the first boss in Wily's castle in 10 but the actual RM's instead of holo-drones. I'd like to think robot expo would mean seeing past RM's in some shape or form.
Deletebut which weapon? copy vision or astro crush?
DeleteIt will most likely be a brand new weapon: Round Floating Space Ball Attack!
Deleteballs of steel?
Deletecomet woman?
ReplyDeletelooks like they're bringing back the customizations from MM8 and MM&B. great
ReplyDeleteTwinkle Girl, eh? I can't wait to see more. Though, there is going to be a LOT of fan art of her.
ReplyDeleteMaybe i'l buy it and study the story as a amature manga creator.
ReplyDeleteWe finally get a female robot master that isn’t a water type, Bass has a sister, and I don’t have to ship Mega Man nor Proto Man with Kalinka anymore.
ReplyDeleteMega Man murdered the heck out of that loli robot master lmao..
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable, but idk if I'd call her a "loli" robot master.
DeleteBy the same logic that she's a loli, Mega Man himself is a shota.
DeleteShe's too covered up. Wish people would stop being weird about child characters in Japanese media.
DeleteI mean, she's very much to a "woman" for a reason. When you think about it there haven't been any other "kid" Robot Masters (aside of Mega Man himself)
Delete*not a "woman"
Delete@Deep Weeb Rock, Roll, Blues, and Forte/Bass are all kids/teens, and that's just in the mainline games and doesn't include the comics and etc. Despite this, Rock/Mega Man and Protoman still use the "Man" naming convention. This is what makes Twinkle Girl unique and a break of the naming convention, as the precedent is for all Robot Masters to be called "Man" and "Woman". It's also probably noteworthy that in the classic era games female Robot Masters are called "Woman" but in the far future you get individuals like Aile, Ashe, Atlas, Pandora, etc. who are simply called "Rock/Mega Men" and not "Rock/Mega Women" for some reason.
Delete@TimeGear I remember one interview with Mega Man's VA for MM8 and X4 where she mentions that the "man" suffix in Japanese isn't seen as a gendered thing but more of a loanword to denote a person''s occupation (e.g.: Salesperson = eigyō-man)
DeleteBut in general, I think they just want this new game to stand out, MM9 was the first to have Splash WOMAN, and assuming there aren't any other female RMs in this game (no shade to Sweeper Woman, but I feel there's less incentive to include her now) this one stands out by having a title that's entirely different from any other RM since
Twinkle Girl is adorable and I love her design. Though I'm confused why they went with "girl" and not "woman" like the standard robot master naming conventions.
ReplyDeleteHYPED!
ReplyDeleteThough I'm not too wild about the way his head opens. The back parts protrude too much. The mohawk part needs to erect.
I can see Twinkle Girl have a crush with either Mega Man, Proto Man or Bass.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking her be with Mega Man since I feel like she's going to play more than just boss after seeing the trailer. And if Mega Man and Twinkle Girl become a thing, we'll I'll have to say goodbye Mega x Kalinka.
