With Your Help, Mega Man Battle Network OCW Could Come Back In Stock

Right now, Mega Man Battle Network: Official Complete Works isn't exactly affordable. But that could all change with a little help from you! Our friends at UDON Entertainment are curious if you'd be interested in a reprint. The 176-page art book could be headed back to the printer if UDON sees some demand... and that's exactly what we're going to do.

If this is something you'd like to see happen, simply speak up in the comments below. Remember; the keyword is reprint! Please don't expect any additional content. The intent is to get this thing back in print for fans who missed out the first time around without shelling out $200+ big ones.

So have at it! UDON will be watching.

  1. I have a disposable income now, so I'd totally take one at an affordable price.

  2. While we're at it, I wouldn't mind seeing a reprint of the Mega Man Zero Official Complete Works. It's not quite AS pricey as the BNOCW ($130 vs $250 on Amazon), but it'd still be nice to have.

  3. They need to reprint more than the BN artbook, just saying.

  4. OF COURSE I'D BE INTERESTED, I'VE LOOKING EVERYWHERE TO BUY MBN:OCW IN A AFFORDABLE PRICE BUT EVERYWHERE I GO IT'S ALWAYS $200+, PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN UDON

  5. Absolutely, yes PLEASE! This is a book I've been needing for a long time. I'd be jumping for joy if we got a reprint!

  6. Yes. A million times yes.

  7. I never got my hands on a copy of this one, but I have all the others. So I'd love a chance to get it for an affordable price.

  8. Of course I would love a REPRINT!

  9. As someone who had to make do with a dinged-up used copy I'd be happy to get a reprinted copy should they choose to put one out.

With the Battle Network 15th anniversary and the Star Force 10th anniversary both being this year, perhaps it would be possible to release the two OCWs in a combined form in a similar fashion as the MM25: Classic + X OCW book? They're basically the same series anyway, right?

    1. While I think that Idea is great, I don't think they're the same series, Star Force is often extremely overlooked because of it's similarities to Battle Network and I just don't feel it's right entirely, The series did plenty to rightfully identify as it's own thing, People often fail to see this because they label it a BN game.

The Tone, Plot, Music, and Setting of Star Force all have a wildly different contrast to Battle Network and While the gameplay is no doubt related, It's also no doubt different from the EXE series, SF put much greater focus on accessibility, freedom in fighting styles and folder building, faster paced battles, and aggressive play, the storyline and writing are taken more seriously within Star Force Character development and growth is more emphasized which gave the SF cast a lot more depth than the BN cast, and IMO more than most characters in the MM franchise, seriously almost every character, outside most Star Force 2 villains has a good amount of depth regardless of what role they play, and they even have hidden depth underneath all the depth you get to see on initial playthroughs.

Star Force 2 is not worth talking about when it comes to storyline, but it is worth mentioning, mainly because it's very toned down compared to the original MMSF and MMSF3, taking a far more laid back and (extremely)cartoony approach to everything, it even goes as far as simplifying most of the original cast to basic tropes they were aligned with and nothing more, Star Force 3 is also a bit more laid back than the first game, but it still had the same writers as the original and they provided the characters with the depth they had in the first game and even expanded upon it, It's not as dark as the first Star Force but it still was a well-told tale(aside from a few term inconsistencies, and a few things could've been explained a bit more.)

I think the thing that scares people off most about SF is that you only move upon 3 Panels, and they still think SF is a BN game when it isn't.

There's a few reasons for this grid layout with main reasons being
1.) Capcom Wanted to show off the 3D capabilities of the DS.
2.) Capcom wanted to speed up battles and the new field layout practically made the player and his/her enemies in attacking range of each other basically at all times, and the 5x3 row made them closer to each other than a 6x3 so battles were often a bit hectic and intense.
3.) Mega Man SF was way stronger than Mega Man.EXE and he needed to be restricted a bit so the game balance could work, I'd go more in depth with this one but for now I'll just suggest SF Mega Man's appearance in MMBN:OSS where playing him basically breaks the game, It's like if you threw X in a classic MM, he'd tear it up with ease.

If it isn't obvious I actually really enjoyed the Star Force games, tbh more than I did Battle Network(although I enjoy both) If I'm being 100% honest I think Star Force was an improvement to BN in plenty of major areas with an exception being Battle Systems in which both have a different approach and I don't necessarily think one is any better or worse than the other, just depends what you're looking for I guess.

  12. Dear god please, I missed out on this when it was in stock on Amazon and now my only hope of getting it is at Anime Expo for like $40 and that's if they even have it there now!! PLEASE REPRINT.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yeah, I'll buy one if there's a reprint.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I already have this and the MMSF:OCW, as well as the MMX:OCW-digital poorly scanned usb buster nonsense (which pisses me off cause above all else I prefer digital so I can look at all my artbooks on the fly with one convincing device I would buy the crap out of these books again digitally but I digress), RM25th:OCW and MMZ:OCW.

But I wouldn't mind a reprint of this or any other book for those that never had them and can't afford them now with their inflated prices.

And yes before that hater arrives in this comment section this book is well worth having, in terms of digital anime artwork MMBN/SF is KING!

  16. I WANT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. Love the BN series but not the current price tag on the OCW a reprint would be greatly appreciated.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Absolutely. I've got two copies of the Rockman/RockmanX 25 behind me right now, I'd love to shell out cash for the series that defined my high school gaming experience. I can't tell you how many late nights I spent playing BN with my best friend, fine-tuning decks to beat eachother's strategies.

  19. Reprint it please! I will buy it as soon as it is released!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Yessss! Please! Do it for the fans! :D

    ReplyDelete
  30. No, don't do it! Wipe this series' terrible art from the face of the planet!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I already have the Star Force OCW but It'd be nice to see them bring back the BN OCW and merge it with the Star Force OCW in the sameway Mega Man and Mega Man X were combined together, It'd also be cool if they could reprint the Zero complete works and combine Mega Man ZX art as well, call it Mega Man Zero + ZX complete works, I guess that's just me though.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yes please!!! I've wanted this book for a long time!

    ReplyDelete

  35. I already have the English and Japanese versions, but I would totally buy this again to keep it in plastic.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Of course I wouldn't mind it. THe thing is I only don't get it because I don't order online... not to mention shipping expenses... Europe never gets anything.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I would love a reprint, I'm still in highschool, so there's no way I will be able to get the Complete Works right now as it is, and by the time I can afford it, the price will shoot up even more...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Absolutely interested, and I think I could point out at least one friend who'd agree (but doesn't actively follow this stuff).

    ReplyDelete
  39. I scanned the art books but haven't released it because I want Udon to do the right thing... please.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I'd rather see the Zero Complete Works reprinted, but sure, .EXE would be great.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I was looking out for such a thing when it was first rumored as part of Battle Network's anniversary. I'll definitely pick up a copy if such a thing happens.

    ReplyDelete
  51. It would be the best thing to have since I am a fan of the Battle network series. A reprint is the best idea. I mean is there any other way to get more of these, other than the chances of finding one at say amazon or something? Anyway, reprints!!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yes please, I'd buy it immediately.

    1. Battle Network art ROCKS, good designs too, some designs I prefer over classic are Tengu, Star and Slash, literally beastly transformations/forms, just an overall sick take one the series.

Yes yes and yes to a reprint, I already have the book but I'd love to buy another for a friend that eyeballs it every time he's over at my house and snap shots what he can with a cell phone.

    2. Don't know how I ended up replying to you.

  53. A reprint should be very much loved for the fans and it is a great way for UDON to earn extra cash and to avoid piracy. The reseller market doesn't do nothing good for the fandom.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Please do a reprint UDON! Every time we get at least something, it keeps Mega Man alive in our hearts and minds. I'd love to finally get my hands on it.

Being over 30, Battle Network was not the series I grew up on, but I grew into nonetheless. For myself and my fellow Mega Man fans that hold a more special place for Battle Network in their hearts, I implore you to consider doing a reprint.

  55. This would be great i would go for a reprint!

  58. I bought the MM/MMX Complete a while back. Loved looking through it.

And yet, as I replayed MMBN1 and 2 on the VC and had some very cool chats about the games online, I felt like I'd done my gaming memorabilia a disservice by not getting this back when it was out.

    Light it up, Udon!
(Hey, throw in the 15th Anniversary and various album artworks and Smash illustrations, maybe even call it V2, if you want to give people an extra push to get it.)

    ReplyDelete
  59. PLEASE, a reprint would be fine.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I would absolutely love a reprint for my favorite series.

  61. Yes, I love to have reprint for the Battle Network Series

    ReplyDelete
  62. Yes! Reprint please! This and Rockman Zero. Also, not sure what miracle it would be to get the Marvel vs Capcom artbook reprinted (might have been a one time thing), but that would be great to get reprinted as well!

  65. Asking for a reprint for the sake of the fans, even though I'm currently not one. Although, I do like the art style.....and I have to play the games one of these days.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yes, please reprint this! Why be left out when the Japanese version has already been reprinted? I'd love too see another run for Zero Official Complete Works as well but Battle Network is one of the Mega Man series closest to my heart so please! I won't miss out on it this time, I swear.

    ReplyDelete
  67. The anniversary is the perfect time to do this. I love my Mega Man and Mega Man X OCW, and really wanted to add the Battle Network one to my collection, until I saw current prices. You have a sale in me for sure if this gets reprinted.

  79. Please reprint!!!
I wasn't able to get Udon's Megaman art books, when they were originaly sold, and now they are only sold by individual sellers who have raised the price up crazy. I would really like if they reprint Megaman Battle Network, Megaman Zero, and Megaman Starforce complete works.

    ReplyDelete
  80. If something is $200 not long after release, it means there weren't enough copies to satisfy demand. A reprint does seem to be in order.
