Next Batch of Mega Man 10 DLC Hits This Week

End of April already? You know what that means: more Mega Man 10 downloadable content!  Hitting all three systems this week are two new Special Stages (featuring Punk and Ballade as bosses) and Endless Attack Mode. Pricing and further details below.

Endless Attack = $2.99 USD /300 Wii Points/ 240 Microsoft Points
Test your skills on a stage without end. Try to break the record for getting the farthest. Results will be displayed in the Rankings page. Not compatible with other Challenges.

Special Stage 2 (Punk) =  $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.
Special Stage 2’s boss is second Mega Man Killer Punk, also created by Dr. Wily. He was designed to be bigger than Enker in size and his special attack is a rapid spinning tackle. Now folks are going to be tempted to rush through on these stages because they are timed, but be careful because the Parabombs in this stage will make life hell for you.

Special Stage 3 (Ballade) = $.99 USD /100 Wii Points/ 80 Microsoft Points.
And finally for the Special Stage 3 we have Ballade, the third Mega Man Killer created after Enker and Punk.  This robot is enormously proud of himself and he will not give up easily, even he’s close to death! Make sure to watch out for the fierce attacks he unleashes from high jumps. His stage requires smart decision-making because a series of conveyer belts and diverse traps will challenge the most masterful Mega Man pro.

All three will be made available for purchase on Wii this morning, followed the Xbox 360 on the 28th, and the PlayStation 3 on the 29th.

  1. Unfortunately, I won't be able to download these until about three hours from now, since I'm still in school, and everything. However, I did watch a few videos, and the stages look pretty fun. The Endless Stage definitely looks a lot harder than Mega Man 9's by a longshot.

  2. Holy crap, I TOTALLY forgot it was already time for these. Times flies like crazy... I remember when it felt like it would take forever for these to come out. :P

Geez. Completely, utterly slipped my mind. That's unlike me for gaming stuff. Oh well, I guess I've just been busy.

Will be downloading these as soon as I get home from work...

  4. Yamaguchi -

I assume that, as with the Special Stages, only Mega Man is playable in the Endless Stage.

  5. @Yamaguichi:

Nope, only Mega Man is playable in the other modes, but like I said before, maybe some day, someone will develop a code to play as Proto Man and Bass in the Endles Attack, as well as the Challenge and Time Attack modes.

  6. Well, now that I've finally gotten around to playing them, I must say that I'm impressed. As with Enker's stage, Punk's and Ballade's were pretty well-made. As for the boss fights themselves, I found Ballade to be pretty easy (which is ironic, since he considers himself to be the strongest, much like Bass). In fact, he's the only Mega Man Killer that I fought without dying (intentionally). Also, in Ballade's article on the Mega Man Wiki, someone said that it's possible to trigger his second form by dying, and coming back to him. It hasn't worked for me, but has anyone else managed to pull this off?

Oh, and about the Endless Attack... It IS harder than Mega Man 9's, like I said in my above comment. Capcom gets major, MAJOR props for paying homage to more games than just Mega Man 1 and 2 this time around. So far, I've spotted:

-Toad Man's stage from Mega Man 4.

-The Yoku Block puzzle from Dr. Wily's castle (Mega Man 4).

-The underwater area of Wily's castle from Mega Man 5 (along with the part with a bunch of conveyor belt platforms).

-Blizzard Man's stage from Mega Man 6.

Oh, and of course, Bubble Man's stage from Mega Man 2, with the shrimp enemies and everything. The game also had Plug Man's Yoku Block puzzle, and last (but not least), there was a very subtle reference to Gemini Man's stage in Mega Man 3.

Overall, I'm very impressed. So far, Mega Man 10 wasn't nearly as big of a disappointment as Mega Man 9 was. I'm not saying that it was a bad game, but there were some particular parts that were a major let-down.
