Behind iCO's Design: An Interview with Yuri Kataiwa

Following a lengthy interview with Keisuke Mizuno in 2019, we've been granted the opportunity to hear the thoughts of another Rockman X DiVE's character designer: Yuri Kataiwa.

Kataiwa was an illustrator for Mega Man Star Force 3 and one of the artist invited to the Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters exhibit. Her work also frequently guest starred on Rockman Unity's App wallpapers, and she's behind the fan-favorite "Rolls" piece.

Kataiwa was in charge of desinging iCO. And thanks to the official Rockman X DiVE Japanese Twitter account, we can read a short interview that covers the process. It's been translated by our friend Windii Gitlord. Check it out below!

We're two weeks away from the opening of the Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters‘ Exhibit (p.s. that little ‘ is pronounced 'dash', like Street Fighter II‘) and today PARCO posted a little promotional video featuring Rockman and Astro Boy. Further, more detail have been posted regarding all the goods that will be sold at the venue.

"Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters" Exhibit Returns with New Artwork

The Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters Art Exhibit, which originally ran last fall through early 2021, is back! And this time, the exhibit is moving to a new, more accessible location. It's leaving the famed Tezuka Osamu Manga Museum in Hyogo prefecture to Tokyo.

Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters Artbook Announced

One of the coolest things announced last year was the "Capcom vs. Osamu Tezuka Characters" art exhibit, which opened its doors on October 23rd, 2020. It will end on February 23rd this year. 

With the prohibition of taking photos from inside the exhibition and the ongoing pandemic, there was concern that we wouldn't be able to take a peek at all the goodies inside. But that fear is now dispelled with the announcement of an artbook to immortalize the exhibit -- forever!
