Capcom Reveals Rockman X DiVE's Roadmap for July to October

Rockman X DiVE is in the middle of a quiet period with no additional characters. Since the distribution of Dr. Light The Martial Artist on June 8, the game has seen a share of reruns. These include the Bridal event, the 2020 summer event and the 2021 summer event this week.

Obviously, fans of the game are wondering what's coming next. To that end, the development team took to social media today to provide a look into the next few months of content.

Find all the details after the break!

Yoda P DiVE Time is back after a 7 month absence despite Capcom Taiwan's promise of it being a monthly program.

This time, Rockman X DiVE producer Yoda Hideto take us to Capcom's headquarters in Osaka for a brief tour of a guest room decorated with all kind of Capcom memorabilia.

He says he's there to hold several meetings about the game's future content. Then, he announced that the development team is preparing a new collaboration with a Capcom IP. He goes on to say fans can find hints in the first part of the video. Suffice to say, there's no clear hint and Yoda showed all kind of memorabilia from numerous Capcom franchises. From Monster Hunter to Resident Evil and all anything you can imagine in between.

Some fans think the Devil May Cry 5 pachislot machine could be a hint. Your guess is as good as anyone's, though. Let us know what you think in the comments.

Next, Hideto announces a brand new event focused on Rockman ZX Advent. If you follow the game closely, you'll remember that NebulaJoy leaked Aile with her ZXA design back in August 2021.

Not much to say here but it's been a long time coming... just like Nana!

new summer event was confirmed (more on that later) and, finally, Yoda said that the climax of the main story is coming. ViA will be involved somehow. If you've been following the story closely, you likely saw this coming from a country mile.

It remains to be seen if this is the end of the story mode as we know it or this particular arc.

Next we have Capcom Japan who provided us a roadmap for the next four months. It reads as follow:

  • July: New Summer Event with two characters. In addition one character will be released during the month.
  • August: Rockman ZX Advent event. In addition four characters will be released during the month.
  • September: Three characters will be released during the month.
  • October: Rockman X DiVE 2nd Anniversary Celebration (Japanese release).

While the development team didn't outright reveal both summer characters, analyzing the silhouettes we can speculate the character on the left could be Ciel. Not only that, the pink is her original design's primary colors. The shape of the hair is very similar too.

The blue silhouette has short hair, something that resemble wings and the design features iCO's wings original design distortion. It could be iCO.

Now, you may have noticed that these designs are a little different from the typical swimsuit variants. These feature armored boots and forearms. The dev team may be going for something totally different this year.

And that's all for now. With any luck next week marks the end of the drought. Maybe we'll see something new, like the summer event or a new character!

  1. As much as I would love it to be a more action-oriented Ciel, I don't think that's her. The silhouette has big stonking X-Series boots. The Zero-Series has pretty normal sized boots. So I think it's a helmetless Zero or something.

    1. The Hair and the Boots say Iris to me, but then there's the halo and the red and blue 'lights' there too, so that gets me to think it's not Iris. I don't get where the OP thought it was Ciel.

  2. The character on the left is obviously E-Tanks.

  4. What even is the story for this game?

    1. The story is how can Capcom trigger your brain to spend money on over priced loot boxes. Then spin it like somehow it's a good thing for both the consumer and the fan community. Because "it's better than nothing".

    2. Try again, dingus, when you have something of merit to add.
May you spend all your money on this piece of trash.

    3. lol, is cry harder part of the story?

    4. Considering years without actual MM games (makes the off and on gap between X4 and X5 look tiny), I think many have the right to complain or cry at this point. Better yet, refuse to waste money on this may send a signal to Capcom that we don't want this and we want legit MM games. As I said to someone else who claims this is the only thing keeping MM alive, if MM is so feeble now that it needs this to survive, then it is already dead. The excellent sales of MM11 and the collections should have made them want to continue X games and X9, like they said they would if sales were good, and if people can work online (very doable when making games, and fans make fan made projects for mods all the time), I don't see why covid in the internet age is an issue if one is a game designer, so the covid excuse sounds silly if they say it delays development.

When it is years of this nonstop and nothing else, anyone with standards should be complaining and has every right to vent. I don't blame Shrap and all and eagerly will join him in the ranting. That's what Capcom deserves the past few years. Simply sitting back and pretending to be content and dealing with it is not going to help change anything or even send a hint that change should be done. Enough people Ranting is a start (that is what helped bring back the Mexican Pizza for Taco Bell that is no so popular now that it is sold out until they increase production by fall), but boycotting them may be what actually changes things here. People should write letters to them, but I doubt that would do much unless tons of people did that. I get great joy seeing people bash this Dive nonsense. The more who do, the better, and the more likely things may actually be pushed in the right direction and continue the main timeline and legit sequels, for those of us here actually old enough to remember MM's glory days in the entirety of the 90s and first half of the 2000s up to around 2007.

A little off topic: Hell, I'm old enough to predate the first MM by a few years, but I actually like X more than classic. Shrap is more purist and prefers MM2 and MM3 (I think MM3 is better than 2 and prefer MM8 and MM11). X games in general (especially on later systems), and MM8 has better explosions too while Rockman and Forte's and the NES ones look bad (MM7 too though nice smoke and particle effects). MM games with charge shot and better graphics than NES are more enjoyable to me, and I even prefer better than SNES graphics too (at least PSX detail is better for me, but I will enjoy lesser too, but not touch the awful looking MM Xtreme on the GBC; that looks bad and even NES looks better), and I prefer X's darker more complex style over classic and actually like the artwork of the PSX and PS2 more than SNES (SNES artwork, like in magazines like the old Nintendo power I had back then makes Sigma and X and Zero look goofy, and in game, their heads are not proportionate to their bodies on older systems, and I think 80s and early 90s anime style looks goofy compared to later (reflected in old MM box art and magazines), though the DBZ had great art style, original Dragon Ball looked too goofy, like how goofy Megaman looks on NES box art. I don't like that look. MM8's box art anime look and X8's looks much better to me. Just my opinion.

I agree with nearly everything except that the Xtreme games look bad - they did really well with the hardware they had and Zero in Xtreme 2 in particular is both really satisfying to play (he resembles his X5 self there) and really nice looking. I'd also say that I doubt X9 would have came out good, especially due to how Dive turned out in every way (Dive even looks bad - worse than the PSP games, which is a new low, and that's just talking about the visuals), but having a bad X9 that at least resembles a game would be way better than having Dive. I do seriously hope that sometime, CAPCOM will actually make a real new game, which I probably won't like, but it would be something that would warrant a discussion, unlike Dive.

    6. But this neat theme by MET is worth discussing and is a remake of MM7's wily stage 1, great stuff (a video on my 'watch later' youtube list): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHMzcsPg8qI

      It's a great arrangement indeed.

    8. I think you got me confused with someone else. I am just a loudmouth with a very, very, very short fuse at this point in my life. I am not a "purist" in that sense of old school vs new school. I am a purist, in a way, in that I am very annoyed with how the franchise has been handled, what it has become (obviously), and those who “think” it’s all good. Mostly because I am annoyed that so much of what I enjoy(ed) has been destroyed in just the last few years. So much of it. I was gonna rant, but decided it served no purpose so moving on…

MM2 and MM3 were both great, but MM3 was my first game and one of the first 3 I ever beat (I don’t really remember). Outside of the soundtrack and opening, MM3 is the superior. MM2 set a lot of bars, and has a better score. MM3 has more to offer game play wise. Hands down, no contest. Not a single Mega Man game in over 30 years has come close to it. And I don't count the spin offs. They are irrelevant.

I’m a purist in that Mega Man should be a side scroller. It should be ROCK music, not pop, not synth, not techno... ROCK. Or Metal. Metal is good. My ideal MM game? A combination of 3's length, X8's presentation and missions, X4 or X7’s soundtrack, Zero's Metroidvania progression (optional), X8’s playable cast, and graphics wise I could care less. I SO do not care how a game looks. I just want it to be fun. The game will come out faster if they don’t have 50 people working on grass mechanics. And I really, really, REALLY want them to include a game option that will finally allow us to toggle between Western and Eastern naming conventions, without just putting it in Japanese. I wanna play as Rockman, Blues and Forte in English, for once.

    9. Speaking of opening, this is a good remix of the MM3 opening theme (I discover it around 2011 and gets good as the song goes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65r7DefNHdY

    10. Metal seems more fitting for Doom. Also this too is a nice theme to tribute MM11 I saw back in 2018 (it changes as it progresses to add more instruments): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7n-zK4xLT8

    11. Shrap may like this remix of X4 Iris battle theme. I think it is good: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QS67INa3cw

    12. This is still my favorite mix of X vs Zero. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbFsKHCoMfE&t=141s
      See? Metal is very X.

But speaking of Iris, I am finally getting around to printing this. An X4 Iris and an improved Alia, cause I was never happy with the first attempt. The other Iris isn't ready yet, and I doubt I'll print it anyway. https://imgur.com/a/ZIoJjlT
I just hope it stands... The hair will be an issue, me thinks.

    13. Yeah, for X games, Rock and Metal is more fitting. I like this one to a good degree though, and the fighting included in it (it feels more MMX to me, but has some rock elements): https://youtu.be/McjxOBZrmoo?t=102

  5. It's probably not Ciel, since the silhouette shows Reploid-like legs.

  6. I wonder who they'll add for the 2nd year anniversary. Hope the main story ending is just this arc and not the whole game. That would be bad for the whole franchise.

  7. It sure is fun seeing the crying over a mobile game that is keeping the series alive.

    1. Be sure to put your money where your mouth is and spend a good thousand dollars or so to get your S Ranks. That will show us. 😑

Unless your a f2p player, in which case your nothing but a leech on the belly of the whale. And in that case your opinion on the matter is of as little consequence as any of us.

    2. People just want a good game.

    3. And people with standards will rightfully keep quote and quote crying since this going on for years is ridiculous and at the expense of actual legit MM games. No one cares about this, or at least those with standards who actually lived when MM was big, don't care.

    4. Lol that's hilarious. This is a legit megaman game. Incel gonna incel.

    5. It may be official. But that's all it is. It's still a legit dog pile.

      Delete
    6. The heck does that have to do with being an incel? Chill. If any game with MegaMan in the title is what you consider legit, then the MegaMan RedBull racing browser game is legit. If that's what you're going for, then sure. But I'm pretty sure Gary and others are talking about a game with a solid sensible story, quality gameplay, good graphics whether 8-bit or otherwise, etc. or some combination of that. As opposed to a poorly controlling, stiffly animated, money whaling incentivized, thrown together game with a seemingly absent or lacking storyline centered around an incredibly boring gameplay loop on stages that feel like debug-mode purposeless stages. Plus an incredible catalog of reused and untouched up sound effects and a janky pvp that even people that enjoy the game point out to be lackluster and buggy. Surround that with Capcom Taiwan's dubious marketing/advertisement issues and you have reason for people to be less than enchanted by this game.
If you feel otherwise, you can always talk about the aspects you deem are truly great instead of randomly calling people incels for having an opposing opinion.

    8. Yes, Deepsigh, him saying 'incel' to us comes across as a person who is still in high school using new age slang as an insult and who never experienced playing the main timeline games. Also yes, I mean an actual sequel that has a story mode and similar gameplay. Dive seems like just rehashing old assets from prior games and mashing them all together just for fan service without it making any sense (Iris is dead and isn't coming back, same for Doppler or those maverick bosses, etc) and just a collection of minigames. I watched youtube videos on it too, it was showing them just racking up points when hitting final Sigma W and such, maybe while being timed. Yeah, completely different to sequels or what an X9 would be. Supposedly from what I've seen, they break the 4th wall in this too.

  8. Devil May Cry would make sense as a crossover. Definitely more than Street Fighter though Street Fighter has a wider appeal.
