Capcom Live E3 2021 Showcase Announced for June 14th

Capcom will be presenting their E3 2021 showcase live on June 14th at 2:30 PDT (US time). The stream will feature news on their latest games, including the recently announced The Great Ace Attorney, Monster Hunter Stories 2, Monster Hunter Rise and Resident Evil Village.

No word if we'll see anything from the Mega Man front. However, we are anticipating the next major title in the franchise to launch between mid to late 2022. Tentatively dubbed "Rockman Taisen" (Taisen in this context= "versus", "war", "bout", "battle" "match-up"), this elusive project came to light during the November 2020 data breach. It's still a ways out there so no telling if E3 2021 is too soon or not.

We also have the unannounced Rockman X DiVE Steam port. I don't see E3 as the "right" venue for that kind of announcement, though. Maybe one of the DiVE YouTube streams we hear from time to time. Your guess is as good as mine.

In terms of Mega Man Battle Network stuff... eh. I wouldn't be too hopeful. We're still in the thick of the recently-confirmed delayed. Considering we've yet to hear anything from certain partner products -- the highly-anticipated Rockman.EXE Kotobukiya kit comes to mind -- I don't foresee E3 being the end-all-be all moment we've been waiting for. I really think these delayed announcements will be grouped together via a Rockman Unity Twitter thread, a post or something. E3 is not the place.

Whether or not E3 brings news, take heart that there's different things in the pipeline. We shall see.

  2. I don't really expect a announcement now. Probably in December for the franchise anniversary. I'd be pleasantly surprised if they do announce something.

    1. Inti is rarely working on two "mains" project at the same time, and since they are working on Gunvolt, i don't expect them to be working on ZX right now. Despite how much i need ZX3.
Plus the name Rockman taisen seems to imply something other than just a numbered sequel.

Too far away to even think much about yet. If they are smart though, they will be making sequels to X, ZX, Legends, and classic. Even a sequel series after ZX and before legends is nice. Lots of time between the events of ZX and Legends, and contrary to what some claim, ZXA does not tie into Legends, obviously. No mention of Elder or Master system in ZX since it is long before that, and that would have occurred before flooding since we see ruins underwater. Just like it is silly when people call Elysium the moon when it is not. A cutscene shows the moon as is when the Master visits earth, and Elysium is far smaller and is obviously gonna be much closer if an orbital elevator once connected it to earth.

    1. Honestly I would like Legends more if it were not related to the other series at all... If Capcom HAD to make the EXE spin off, just leave Legends it's own timeline and be done with it.

    2. Honestly let classic, x, zero, and zx be in their own connected timeline and leave legends out of it. They should have the legends games be in their own timeline not connected to the other games imo

(Bardock:I am going to CHANGE THE FUTURE!, okay theres my dragon ball quote, im done now, stop reading.)

  5. Well I'm a simp for Capcom, so I plan on watching it even if there is no Mega Man announcement. And I'm not saying I don't like Mega Man, Mega Man is the main reason I like Capcom.

  7. Hi Protodude,
Been binging through your site for EXE news post 2021 E3.

"I don't foresee E3 being the end-all-be all moment we've been waiting for. I really think these delayed announcements will be grouped together via a Rockman Unity Twitter thread, a post or something. E3 is not the place."

What are your thoughts on a possible EXE announcement around TGS 2021? Has there been a precedent for that?
