Hobby Rock 2016 Models Teased

Models based on Aile, Rock Volnutt, Shooting Star Rockman, OVER-1 and Hitoshi Ariga's Rockman are but a small sample of what's headed to Hobby Rock 2016.

Each year talented model kit creators converge at WonderFestival to showcase and sell their creations. Hobby Rock is a designated Rockman table featuring Rockman-related products. For your consideration, here's a glimpse of 2016's lineup.

Hobby Rock kicks off in 25 days! Follow https://twitter.com/HOBBYROCK for updates!

  2. This is probably the most hype Mega Man news for me in a while! So great to see Aile, Mega Man Volnutt, Star Force Mega Man, the Ariga designs and much more getting new figures, I'll keep a close eye on these.

  3. Hey now, these figures are more on the unique side of things.

    Pretty nifty looking stuff.

  4. Aile and Elpizo are the only ones appealing to me. Rockman looks accurate but can't stand Ariga's designs.

  5. Great, HobbyRock is happening again!??? Ugh... I'm/my wallet is still recovering from the last HobbyRock a festivals ago. Now again! Well from what I'm seeing i'll maybe order the Elpizo kit, not sure because its a statue and I'm not into statues/fixed figures as you really can't do much with them as articulated figures. I wonder whats the scale of it? But would of been way better if it was articulated!!!!! The Ariga Megaman, maybe too as its articulated. Not that much of a fan of Ariga, but liking how the kit is coming out to be. But what I'm going to try my best to get is the Glacier Le Cactank kit and if the sculptor finishes it the Tretistia Kelverian kit, both from Megaman Zero 3 game. Ugh... Its going to be a pain to get them, I'm even struggling to get/find Blazin Flizard! I have the others, and glad the sculptor is finishing the whole 8 Gentle Judges, but why now, not sure if i'll have enough to place my orders in. Aw man... as artist/collector myself and Megaman fan I love collecting kits from the Wonder Festival, but I TRUELY HATE is that its all a majority of just scalpers that attend, like 75% scalpers, 15% regular attendees, and 10% collectors/hobbyists. But I hope for the best to get the 2 kits for my Megaman Zero 3 Gentle Judges kits/collection that I have.

    1. I've never participated in a HobbyRock festival before, But I'd really like to pick up the Star Force Mega Man, Aile, and Ariga Mega Man at least. Is there anything I should know if I'm interested? Like how much do models usually cost or if they're available for sale online?

  6. I could really go for that Ariga Megaman.

  8. Ice Man looks cool, Elpizo too, if the Aile was articulate and able to saparate from the bike that'd be sweetness. The Iris figure was available last time if I'm not mistaken, although I do not remember them presenting color variants. Iris looks off model, but I like it nonetheless it has a Victorian feel to it. Ariga's stuff... Meh... I''ve always hated the narrow buster tip, it looks steampuck, if you like that sort it suits you go for it.

  9. I don't know too much about this event but will these figures be purchasable online? All my money for the Hitoshi Ariga Megaman.

  10. Chances of buying this online? 0%?

  11. Nice! They all look nice. Doubt I'll be buying anything this coming year since nothing here interests me that much. I'm still looking for someone to assemble and paint my current models. Still, wish I had the talent to make stuff like this. =3

  12. Ebay after the event is the best bet for anyone looking to purchase from the US. They do not sell these kits officially outside the event. Be prepared to spend quite a bit of markup per model, most of which are ALL unpainted. I dropped $90 for the Flashman from last year.

Don't forget about that bad ass capsule they'll have this year!

    1. Chances of eBay is quite very slim still, WF kits are rarely on eBay as those who are lucky to get a kit and decides to resell it, they'd rather resell among Japan and not international like USA and so on. And the capsule is not guaranteed, the sculptor is just suggesting if he should have it available again or not. I hope the sculptor does so I try to get another one or 3 more, it is just so cool!

    2. That capsule is spectacular. I'm sure it will cost a princely penny, especially sold on eBay, but man...it's like, necessary lol. If it comes with that translucent Light, it'll be hard to resist...

  13. Theres a few folks over that way that know if they put it on ebay the Western Hemisphere will pay top dollar for it. I havent seen much Hobby Rock/Wonder Festival stuff on eBay, but it seems like its more prominent now on there than it ever has been. Its how I got my Heatman kit. It's my favorite Megaman collectible so far! :)

    1. A few yes, but not very likely, its like out of 100 sellers only 3 sell to the west, the main reason is because they know the whole hobby of building such kits and so forth is VERY little to none over in the western hemisphere, which honestly is true, so they rather resell among only in Japan where the hobby of building such kits is more frequentl. Which is EXACTLY why you haven't seen much HobbyRock/Wonder Festival stuff on eBay. And no its not more prominent now, I've been collecting Wonder Festival kits for years now and nothing has changed, they don't appear on eBay as the reason why I said earlier. You can consider yourself lucky that you got that Heatman kit, because the seller decided to sell it on eBay and I'm sure I saw it and passed on it. lol! Have you gotten the other robot masters from the same sculptor? No, right? Again, its the reason what I said earlier.

    2. Well Hello Mr. Fancy Pants. :)

I agree the West doesn't care about building kits as much as they do over that way. But today compared to 4 years ago, I can type in Wonder Festival on eBay today and get a slew of hits. In fact there are a few Hobby Rock models listed on there now.

I do consider myself lucky that I got my Heatman, but don't assume I haven't gotten anything else. I got the Flashman too, along with Shadowman, Yellow Devil, and Quickman that I assembled and painted for a friend.

four years ago it was harder to find. I"m not saying eBay is flooded with them, I"m just saying there are more now than there were. It's still not saying there's much.

    3. Well, I assumed that you just got the Heatman as you only specified that one and didn't say like kits or others. But if you have those, cool! Four years ago yeah it was hard to find on eBay, and is still quite the same, as like I said of the reasons why. But still, them popping up eBay, not likely, like 1 out of 100 chance, so as you said to check eBay, sorry not very likely. Also, those other Wonder Festival kits on eBay gotta be careful because they might be recasts from Asia or something which are more prune to break because of different materials used, rather than normal. For those who know this hobby know eBay kits are very cautious to don't buy from there. I wish these kits would be on the western side as it'd be way easier for me to get them and add them to my collection, but nope. Over all, these kits/figures aren't meant for everybody, as in not recommended for those who don't have experience in scratch building to building things, as these kits are on a whole different level and not just simple snap together plastic kits/Gundam kits.

  14. Didn't even think about the potential for recasting, thanks for the heads up. I wish kits would migrate over here too. I hate that importing something from another country typically ups the price. I dream of a world of flat shipping prices across the globe!

  15. anyone going that would be willing to buy for someone?? i'd pay you at *any* rate you need.
