First 4 Figures Opens Zero Statue Pre-Orders (Updated)

First 4 Figures  brings us another high-end Mega Man X statue: the red crusader himself, Zero!

"Zero is fearsome robot designed and built by the late Dr. Wily as his most advanced creation ever, designed specifically to outclass any other robot of the time, including the original Megaman. Due to an initial flaw in Zero’s programming, he proved to be a dangerous and unpredictable machine, refusing to follow his creator’s orders, leading to him being locked away. Following a brutal battle with Sigma upon reawakening, Zero was brought under control, and now fights as a formidable member of the Maverick Hunters alongside X.

First 4 Figures is proud to unveil the second piece in our high-end Mega Man X collectibles: Zero! Comes with interchangeable Z-Buster and Z-Sabre. The piece is made from high quality polystone resin that is hand painted, allowing for a simply stunning finish. Standing in 1/5 scale at over 17 inches tall, the statue is an essential part of any collection of Mega Man or Mega Man X merchandise.

Comes in deluxe full color packaging, hand numbered base, and an authenticity card that will allow you to register your statue with First 4 Figures. This will enable you to collect the same product number for future statues in the series!"

First 4 Figures says only 1000 units will be produced worldwide. So if your wallet is still chugging along after all this Mega Man merch, you can pre-order yours here.

UPDATE: In a follow-up on Facebook, First 4 Figures posted this...

"As you know we're always listening - noticed some comments on Zero's neck - that will be updated to the the correct joint colour. There was also comments on the face i.e with closed mouth and more pointy chin - please take a look at the image and see the original on the top and the updated version on the bottom. If enough people prefer the updated, please let us know and we'll change. If not, it will stay as it is now."

  2. Seems like this one is supposed to be based off of the Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 style.

Nope since that one actually looks accurate (and beastly).

Unless you mean in-game in which case still nope, that one has curvier/stubbier limbs, more ark in the hair with less detailed strands, and lite up crest and chest orbs. However I do suppose something could be based on something else and not represent it accurately.

    1. Right?
Why pay more than twice the price for a smaller, inferior sculpt when the upcoming X-Plus figure is huge and looks absolutely perfect? Not only that, but if my kids knock the X-Plus figure off a shelf: it won't hurt them, and the figure won't shatter. Heck, I can even let my kids handle the X-Plus figures and not worry about them screwing it up.

  4. Who in the world is doing these faces on the Mega Man line at F4F?

Fire them or put them strictly on objects and such. First botching Mega Man, I haven't even seen X, and that's probably a good thing based on this. I don't even want to look, now...

    1. Every one of the F4F Mega Man statues is ugly, in my opinion, and it's not only because of the faces; whoever is doing the sculpting has the proportions off just enough that everything looks like garbage. I'm glad I have not purchased any of these "high-end" pieces, and much prefer what Bandai, TruForce, and even Kotobukiya have done over the last few years.

Every other First 4 Figure line -- Metroid, Castlevania, Zelda, even Mario -- look absolutely amazing, but for some reason their Mega Man figures are downright ugly.

    2. Gotta say i agree, the only people who seem to be able to get the faces spot on are usually the Japanese manufacturers, compare this to the recently revealed X-Plus Gigantic Zero & there's no contest + the X-Plus one is way cheaper too, sure it's not made of the same materials but from an aesthetic standpoint i know which i'd rather have! Shame too as some F4F stuff can be pretty good, but for the money their MM stuff doesn't seem worth it, personally i'll be sticking to X-Plus for now, i'm hoping after Roll X-Plus make a Proto Man or Bass figure for the gigantic line.

  6. Yeah, I mean, I'm sitting here with the Tails Exclusive on my nightstand. Looks like it was absolutely crafted with love. Tails' model is spot on, it's one of his greatest sprite poses, the Mushroom Hill base is awesome, the mushrooms lighting up have universal appeal...

But the Mega Man one makes me cringe just looking at the face. Zero here is noticeably wrong.
I just don't understand why this isn't being caught or brought up by someone in production.

  7. Now Zero gets the opportunity to end a series of Megaman statues instead of figures for a change.

    1. Except they made Sigma, Vile, and Variants/Armors for X all after the D-Arts Zero right? Maybe it's the line that slowly dies so companies are like f it, if we have to make one last figure let it be something that people might actually buy so that we can recoup some funds.

Unless you think Iris will save the lines.... Gimme a Break.

    2. The D-Arts/SH Figuarts Megan line died because of the Zero series Zero didn't do so well in sales. Yet it was a character that stupid fans voted for to be made into a figure and now look, the line is dead for all we know. So many characters could of been chosen for a figure, but nope had to be Zero series Zero. Heck, hes dubbed as god of destruction right? Well seems to be true. lol!

    3. He is not dubbed as god of destruction or whatever, he has the moniker of ultimate destroyer, only one ever called god was Omega.

Anyway listen to yourself, you are saying X does good, Classic does good Vile does good MMXZ does good then MMZ comes out and does bad so they cancel an entire line of good products just cause one did bad? That. Makes. No. Sense! Unless you think they banked over a billion dollars on MMZ's success, or it took that much to make it.

First off nowhere does it say the line is canned, second nowhere does it say MMZ bombed and was the reason for no updates for a while. There are so many explanations that cover these things, maybe other franchises are more popular and put on priority over the MM series, maybe there is lisencing issues since Capcom does seem to want to reboot the series, maybe it is a.marketing strat.

Bottom line is you don't end a nearly entirely successful line based on one bad thing, you just go back to what works not doing that is just bad business.

I personally think the MM figures in general don't sale well after a while, I picked up on that ever since they started doing color swaps, small facial variants voting polls and junk. Back then I said yup this line is dying, before the release of MMZ.

In koto's case they are A poor and B cater to the wifey waifu cute girl whatever loving crowd, their audiance is not interested in MM, well the ones they can't objectify anyway.

  8. Just for the record, they're going to be changing his face before release. They're also going to color the neck properly, as they have done with the others. One things for sure, they do take fan reaction and response seriously.

  9. The closed mouth face is going to look really odd with his current pose.

    1. Yeah, it really is. I wish they would make him have his mouth slightly opened. He is in an attacking pose, he needs to have some expression of that and not some stoic badass face. They clearly went off the X-Plus Gigantic figure face which is what people were using as an example. -sigh-

  10. their figures are hideous! just look at this link :http://www.first4figures.com/component/option,com_myphp/Itemid,3/product,72/
it's literally link from zelda, anyway, look at his neck! it's like coming from his chest or something, it just stretches out oddly, then his head is tilted at an impossible angle. this is broken neck link. they just make such ugly figures. sure, sonic and kirby are fine, but when it comes to human forms, they're terrible!
