Four Super Famicom Rockman Games Coming to NN3DS Virtual Console

During today's Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo announced a bevvy of classic Super Nintendo and Super Famicom titles are coming to New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. At least four Rockman games have been confirmed for Japan: Rockman 7, Rockman X, Rockman X2, and Rockman X3. Rockman & Forte and Rockman Soccer are MIA again.

Nintendo did not specify when we'll see these four hit the service. What's more, there's been no word on North America or Europe. I'm confident we'll see them all on our shores eventually, though.

Check out today's Nintendo Direct for more information.

  1. They need to put Mega Man 9 and 10 on virtual console, since there's not going to be a tangible version any time soon.

  5. Wish they plan to release the R&F SFC version but then again, there's the inferior gba port already on the shop.

  6. The 3ds VC is getting a crazy amount of Mega Man games: The NES MM series, the Gameboy MM series, the MM Xtreme games. Now MM7 and the X trilogy iare on the way.

I would't be surpised if the GBA librar games are also on the way. This is a great time to be a MM fan.

    1. "This is a great time to be a MM fan."

For the sake of my sanity, I'll assume that was sarcasm. It might be great for NEW fans. But the rest of us already have these games in multiple forms and have played them eight-hundred billion times over.

These are decidedly very dark times to be a MM fan (unless you care a lot about figures and stickers and other useless crap).

    2. There's a lot of Castlevania games on the 3ds now too, if that image is right and Super Castlevania IV is coming.

Wouldn't really say it's a great time to be a Castlevania fan though.

  7. X, X2, and X3?! HELL YES. And, they have Perfect Pixel mode. I'm playing SMW right now, it is NOT dark, and it's perfect.

  8. Only single thing I'm sad about is that it's only for New 3DS models and not for old style.

I guess it's not TOO bad, considering there's always homebrew and emulators, but still..

Strangely enough, I smiled more at seeing Fire Emblem 4 and Final Fight TOUGH more than the Rockman games.

  10. Seems most Mega Man related news recently has been tied to Nintendo, at least where games are concerned.

    Hm...

    1. What Mega Man news? Ports?

    2. Ports, but also the appearance in Smash and the Amiibo stuff in Super Mario Maker, Mario Kart, Yoshi's Woolly World, etc.

I mean, there hasn't been much in the way of substantial news otherwise, but even so. Those are a lot of Nintendo's biggest games.

  11. This is awesome, I've been wanting portable versions of x2 and x3 since the GBA days. It's also awesome to see final fight 2 and 3 finally being released on a portable.
