The Official Word On Powered Up 2

Regardless of Powered Up's initial sales performance, my hopes for a sequel run high: re-releases in Japan were quite successful, warranting a "Best Price! edition" while Mega Man 9 proved there's still an interest in the classic series between fans and non fans. Indeed, it would seem a Powered Up 2 would be inevitable, right? Not quite.

In response to my inquiry, Christian Svensson, Capcom's VP of Strategic Marketing and Buisness Development, had this to say:

"As far as the potential for a PU2, anything is possible, but not likely anytime soon."

Bah, humbug. Well, here's hoping for the next best thing: Mega Man 10.

April Coro Coro Coming Soon

Amazon of Japan is now taking preorders for the April issue of Coro Coro Comics, set to ship March 14th, 2009.

Speculations indicate the April issue won't contain any new info about the upcoming Rockman game, BUT, the following issue (May) will reveal the boss contest winners, subsequently unveiling the new Rockman game. There's a darn good chance the preview for the May issue will shed some light on what to expect....maybe.

Exclusive Ariga Artwork in "GameSide"

Looks like this little tidbit slipped underneath my radar:

Japanese magazine GameSide commemorated the release of Rockman 9 with stunning artwork of the Rockman 9 cast, illustrated by none other than Megamix author Hitoshi Ariga. The piece, spanning across a two paged pin-up, is limited to 2,000 copies of the issue.

In addition, Ariga san sat down with the editors of the magazine to reveal an unpublished Megamix manuscript. No details regarding its contents, I'll be keeping an eye out on such a rarity.

Oh, free internet cookie to anyone who can make that image into a banner. (*cough* 1085 x 142 *cough*)

How-To Unlock Mega Man Costume in Dead Rising CTYD

I've gotten quite a few e-mails regarding the steps necessary to obtaining the Mega Man and Roll costumes in Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. Although I've yet to play the game, the answers to your questions can easily be found on GameFaqs...at least, the answer to obtaining the complete MM costume, no word on Roll yet:

""You must have beaten the game and unlocked the "2nd Ammendment" mini-game. (To complete the suit, you can find the Megaman Helmet in the toy store of the movie theater once it opens)

Megaman BootsBeat all "2nd Amendment" mini-games
Megaman TightsBeat all "2nd Amendment" mini-games with an "A" rank
Real Mega BusterBeat all "2nd Amendment" mini-games a "S" rank"

Roll Gets Cute...Too Cute

Aww, that's adorable.

This custom Wonder Festival figure is currently up for bidding at Yahoo! Auctions Japan. When completed, the figure is equipped with several articulated joints, allowing it to be fully pose-able. As with countless other WF garage kits, some assembly is required.

The price? Starting bid of 12,800 Yen...or $130-something dollars. Yikes! I guess that's reasonable, considering the fact the model is entirely hand made.

Best of luck.

RUMOR: Viz Media To Stream NT Warrior, Star Force Online

Rumor has it that at Viz Media's Wondercon panel, the company confirmed plans to stream full length episodes of Mega Man NT Warrior and Mega Man Star Force online in the near future:

"Just got back from Wondercon, my last stop was at Viz's booth were they talked adding an assortment of licensed anime to Cartoon Network video such as Naruto, MAR, and suprise...Megaman Nt Warrior/ Star force! An official annoucnement is suppose to be coming soon, they didnt specify a date when the video service would launch." -- 102b

Sounds likely, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. Thanks for the tip 102b.

Fan-made Rockman AMV To Be Aired On TV

Capcom-Unity member XHunter is feeling real good right about now: Anime Fun TV, a local public access channel in San Antonio, Texas, plans on airing XHunter's "Rockman.Exe - Woodman" AMV on television. In addition, the AMV will be a part of AFTV's upcoming DVD (not for profit), set for distribution at Oni-Con 2009.

Congrats XHunter!

Mega Man Legends Unreal Tournament Mod

Oh the fun that was "classic" Unreal Tournament, the game every "true PC gamer" had to play...

UT was popular among rag tag hackers for it's user friendly modification system, allowing anyone with basic programing knowledge to create games of their very own. Such is the case here with a simple Mega Man Legends skin mod:

If you're still an avid fan of the original UT, be sure to give these skins a go. Check out the video description for direct links to the patches.

Jazwares Teases New Mega Man Figures

Jazwares Inc., makers of the popular Retro Roto action figures, are teasing a brand new wave of Mega Man figures at their official site. Nothing much else to say than that, the site is pretty bare bones at the moment

If the logo is any indication (pictured), we might be seeing a new line up of Classic series figures. More information develops.

Wondercon '09: Capcom Booth Tour

Capcom was a major player at this year's Wondercon, a convention celebrating comic books, games, and movies. Of course, what would a Capcom booth be without Mega Man's presence?

Mega Man goods were on sale at the "store section" with several items up for purchase such as soundtracks, art books, plushies, etc.

Those willing to dish out $50 could even buy the Mega Man 9 press kit, a much more more reasonable price than those up on ebay...

View more pictures of Capcom's booth here.
