On the heels of today's brand-new trailer, Capcom has released a pair of new screenshots from Mega Man: Dual Override that clue us in on a few interesting details.
First, here's a little more insight into the game's new Override System:
"Unleash power beyond your limits with Override, a new system that temporarily removes a robot's limiter to unlock extraordinary power! However, once Override ends, the strain causes a temporary drop in various abilities, so use it wisely!"
The screenshots give us a clearer look at the updated player HUD. Alongside Mega Man's HP gauge, we can see an icon indicating that he's entered the Override state, his currently equipped weapon, the Mega Buster, and his equipped Override chip, represented here by the shield icon.
Perhaps more interestingly, Mega Man is once again facing Astro Man... or rather, "Astro Man R". The "R" designation appears to be given to Robot Masters that have returned or been revived, with Astro Man's DWN number even updated to reflect his new status. This could very well mean that we'll be seeing even more legacy Robot Masters in the game.
More updates soon!
I have to assume with the way it looks like you'll have a lot of ability combinations, the game will be longer than usual. Maybe the rebooted robot masters are a good way to extend the game's length while also introducing newbies to some of the history
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the returning Robot Masters are the solution to the tedium of re-fighting all the same Robot Masters again before the final boss. It's an interesting concept, using your new weapons on past foes instead of the current ones.
ReplyDeleteI was honestly shocked to see Astro Man make an appearance (in a good way). I'm super hyped for Dual Override!
