Shingo Izumi joined Capcom in 2018 and first appeared on the Mega Man front in the Secret Level episode Mega Man: Start, credited as one of two new development team members. Today, Rockman Unity confirmed Izumi as the producer of Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection. He’ll also appear at the game’s special stage at Tokyo Game Show on Sunday, September 28, at 10:00 JST, alongside Rockman Unity’s Ucchy-san and comedian Go☆Jas.
The question now is whether Izumi has become the new front man for the Mega Man IP, stepping in after Kazuhiro Tsuchiya’s departure from Capcom in 2023. This news doesn’t confirm it outright, but his growing involvement with the series—from Secret Level to Star Force Legacy Collection—does point in that direction.
Maybe we’ll hear more next Sunday. Or not. Either way, fresh updates on the collection are coming soon.
