Mighty No.9 to be Discontinued From Japanese PlayStation Store
Publisher Spike Chunsoft will delist Mighty No.9 from the Japanese PlayStation Store tomorrow, November 15th. Users who already own the game will still be able to redownload it at any time after November 15th.
Spike Chunsoft did not disclose why the game will be removed from the Japanese storefront. However, it's worth noting that a couple of other Spike Chunsoft/Deep Silver published games are being delisted tomorrow as well. These include Homefront: The Revolution and Saints Row IV. Pending official word from Spike Chunsoft, it's presumed that the publishing deal with Deep Silver has expired. If that is the case, it is unlikely that Mighty No.9 will be pulled from other regions.
If something happens to change, well, we'll let you know.

the media empire that meant as megaman replacement is officially dead.ReplyDelete
It's messed up how badly MM11 blew this game away, forgot it even existed. Mighty Gunvolt Burst should be the main draw from this series. That game is awesome.ReplyDelete
Dead I.P. walking...ReplyDelete
ah.. all those 'Beck will carry Rockman's spirit!' comics sure have not aged well, have they?
It's for the best. Beck needs another chance, but with a leaner and less ambitious (and troubled) team.ReplyDelete
Yeah, really what harmed this game the most is that it made too many promises it could'nt handle.Delete
I choose to believe it's being pulled because it just suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuxReplyDelete
If that was the case, it would'nt be pulled only for one platform, in one geographical zone, along with others games (that might or might not sucks, i'm not familiar with them). really as the article points out, it's probably just a deal coming to a end.Delete
He was making a joke at the games expense dude...Delete
the game Thanos snapped, reduced to atomReplyDelete
Boy, how naive was everyone when they thought Beck would carry on Mega Man's legacy.ReplyDelete
Oh... well, no big loss there.ReplyDelete
And nothing of value was lost.ReplyDelete
And now, we wait for the eventual cancellation of the 3DS and Vita ports.ReplyDelete
considering we don't ear much about theses two platform aniway (especially the Vita) i'm surprised to learn that the ports are suposed to still be a thing.Delete
I was under the impression they were essentially dead at this point. It's been passed through two different studios and the first one was because it was too risky or something? I don't remember, but I'm still mad I'll not see anything of the 60 bucks I spent except for the crummy box.Delete
NO, PLEASE, TELL ME THIS IS A LIE. NNOOOOOoooo...ReplyDelete
It chewed more than it could handle and choked... Though I still wonder if we will ever see Red Ash.ReplyDelete
Doubtful at this point. Although, if it ever shows up again, I'd rather have it continue as an anime.Delete
Didn't that one get funding picked up by a Chinese studio or did they back off on it?Delete
Am I the only one who actually likes this game?ReplyDelete
No. I have seen a few people who liked it pretty fine. And i myself did'nt particularly dislike it, it was'nt awesome, but it was'nt that bad. It's main fault was to create too much hype compared to what the final product was. had it been anounced as "a nice little indie game" even people who disliked it might have said "eh, it's not very good" before moving on, but because it was "THE game that will carry one Mega Man's legacy! undoubtedly the start of a massive video game franchise!" and so on... it ended up being bashed hard.Delete
It definitely has its defenders, but in my experience they're not usually the ones that backed it. I've seen some of them saying we shouldn't take into consideration anything from the Kickstarter even though some of the backers won't ever get what we were promised.Delete
Inafune is crying like an anime fan on prom night.ReplyDelete
As long as Mighty Gunvolt and its sequel still gets to stay, I'm perfectly willing to forget that MN9 ever existed.ReplyDelete
In fact, I kind of already did.
