Here's How To Play The Mega Man Board Game (Update)

Do you have twenty minutes to spare? If so, you might want to check out this in-depth gameplay review of Mega Man: The Board Game. We get a good look at the board and all its assets, plus detailed rules and instructions. Pretty complicated stuff, really.

I supposed if you're accustom to hobby-focused board games, this shouldn't be all too intimidating. I'm more of a Clue guy, myself. Nevertheless I'm still on board for this project. Be sure to check out the Kickstarter for more info and goodies.

Thanks to Tony Ponce for the tip!

UPDATE: Jasco dropped me a line, and it looks like there's a contest going on to win a free copy of the game. Simply head over to Board Game Geek and answer a few trivia questions. The contest will run until the end of the day on Tuesday, January 14.

  1. It looks like something you have to play a few times to get accustomed to. It doesn't look too difficult, but it's certainly not your typical board game.

    1. Just getting into the particulars here; this looks less "Board" more "Tabletop". User-built decks of cards, nonmodular community decks of cards, dice, modular boards/maps, mixed tiles that go into former, tokens for score keeping, cards for scorekeeping, spinners(WIP) for scorekeeping, scorekeeping by miniatures, and yes Roll-playing.

    2. The comments section on your blog tend to be filled with negativity, insults, and other such remarks. I wouldn't blame that guy for wanting to be defensive about his opinion from the get go.

  3. I think it looks fun. Like snowlioness said, you'd have to play it a couple times before you get it, but no biggie.

  4. What I'm getting from the video is that this is Dungeons & Dragons for beginners. But with a Mega Man motif.

That isn't necessarily a bad thing, mind you. But it's noteworthy all the same.
