Periodic Table of Video Game Characters

Oh boy, the periodic table of elements, a major headache in Chemistry class. If only the chart looked a little something like this, then maybe I would have learned something. IHC created this awesome piece of art, featuring generations upon generations of video game characters representing various elements.

Mega Man (magnesium) and Cut Man (copper) immediately caught my eye, while Wily (Dysprosium) took a some time to spot.

"Acid Illegal" Up For Grabs

According to a small blurb at the official Shooting Star Rockman 3 website, Nintendo Wii users will soon be able to download the "Acid Illegal" Battle Card via "Everybody's Nintendo Channel." The promotion starts today and ends April 7th, 2009. Acid Illegal was formally a Wavemasters 2009 exclusive card, available to participants.

Hope to see to see this kind of promotion over here when MMSF3 releases; great compensation for a lack of official tournaments/events.

Mega Man DVD Collection Vol. 2 Ships

Just got my confirmation from Yes-Asia: volume 2 of the Ruby Spears MM cartoon has shipped. Strangely, Amazon and several other DVD outlets lists the set as "out of stock/not yet available." Running behind schedule?

Secret Stage in Mega Man 9?

I've been sitting on this video for quite some time now, believing it to be nothing more than a good forgery. However, those of you sending me this video seemed so passionate about it that I decided to put it up for speculation.

What we have here is a proposed "secret stage" in Mega Man 9, following the final Wily stage:

Make of it what you will, but based upon Seth's recent comment, I personally believe this is not the secret everyone's been looking for.

UNIQLO Rockman Shirt Incoming

Bet you forgot about these, didn't you?

Japanese T-shirt designer, UNIQLO, has partnered with a number of video game developers to release a slew of game inspired shirts. The first Rockman shirt is set to release April 20th, a little over a month after the initial line up ships (March 16th).

No pictures of the tee just yet, expect to see something before the ship date.

Overpriced Much?

In 2003, Capcom released a special Rockman collection aptly named, "Rockman Collection" to coincide X7's domestic release. The pizza box sized set included Rockman Complete Works 1~6 for the original PlayStation, a copy of Rockman X7, and seven collectible badges. Convenient, no? Well it got better: the set was priced at the equivalent of $99.95. Not too bad.

Most of the time, a used set appears on ebay for a $100, while a sealed version often runs for $150; two very reasonable price points. This guy however, is trying to sell the collection for a mind blowing $529.99 (plus $6 shipping). That's incredibly overpriced, especially considering the fact its used (with noticeably wear).

If you're desperate for the set, try and wait it out for a cheaper deal, stear clear of this one. Still, I can't help but feel a little bad for the seller, the recession must be hitting him pretty hard.

A Closer Look at SSROCW

Pointed out by Reploid20xx, 4gamer.net has a series of scans from the upcoming Shooting Star Rockman Official Complete Works. The scans are of bigger quality than those previously reported. Simply click on a scan and check off the second bullet (フルサイズ表示) to enhance the size.

"Send in the Robots"

The Rockman series is known for its depiction of "robotic driven societies," eras in which real, working, autonomous machines have replaced the need for humans in a number of occupations. Inafune (and countless other "dreamers") believed a robot driven society would be common place by the late 00's, but as you and I both know, such a world has yet to be realized. However, that might change in the very near future:

Back in January, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation aired a report on Japan's attempt to implement robots in the workforce in hopes of overcome problems created by age and the diminishing birth rate. If successful, the country would see a revitalization in a number of markets, subsequently enriching the economy back to health.

If you have the time, please do check out the documentary below -- it's simply fascinating:

Mega Man DVD Collection Half-Off At Best Buy

Under-performing Best Buy stores throughout North America have slashed prices on countless anime DVDs in an attempt to improve their anime sales. For one reason or another, the recently released Mega Man DVD Collection is considered an anime by Best Buys' standards, so it to is half off.

I can confirm the price of the disc is now $11.50, original $23.00 -- I popped in early today to take advantage of the sale, leaving with roughly three box sets, all of which originally $100.00.

If you've yet to purchase the DVD collection, I highly recommend taking advantage of the offer.

Please note, not all Best Buys in North America are running this promotion. Check out this list for stores near you where the clearance is in effect.

*Shudder* Unlocking Roll Caskett Outfit In Dead Rising: CTYD

So, how does one go about disguising Frank West as Roll Caskett? GameFaqs finally has the answer: "Beat it [the game] on Hard with S Ranking"

Beating such a feat is no walk in the park: An S-rank requires you to complete the game in a fast manner, roughly under five hours. In addition, you're required to rack up a certain amount of "zombie points," 12,000 or so.

You can see a few pictures of the Roll outfit in action here .

Mega Man X Wishes Edge a Happy 200th

In honor of 200 issues, Edge magazine (known for their notorious review standards), is about to embark on a huge marketing gimmick: releasing 200 covers for the honorary issue, each adorned with snazzy artwork.

Among the lot is Mega Man X in 16-bit sprite form, bowing down before the reader. Neat, but a very strange choice of artwork....
