Twitter user EXE6_Hack reports that this model functions much like MegaMan.EXE did in Battle Network Legacy Collection, interacting with players and adding personality to the menus and launchers. By pressing the left shoulder button, they were able to trigger conversations between Geo and Omega-Xis, with roughly five different interactions encountered during their session.
Various screen display options were available to test, with EXE6_Hack noting that both the position and size of the screens could be adjusted. The collection also appears to support vertical monitors through a “tate” feature, replicating the original Nintendo DS layout. It’ll be particularly interesting to see how this translates to Nintendo Switch, where you can stand the console vertically and play with the Joy-Cons detached.
The game selection menu currently features only Pegasus, Leo, and Dragon as playable options. EXE6_Hack notes that the introduction cutscene for Star Force 1 has been modified to fit a single screen, whereas the original Nintendo DS version split its images and effects between the top and bottom screens. The title screen also now features a high-resolution logo.
Star Force 1's touch screen features have been significantly modified to accommodate traditional controls. Pressing the A button allows you to peep an NPC's Transer, while the Y button cycles between the different NPCs displayed on screen. The Transer System itself appears largely unchanged from the original game, though because this is an offline demo, adding Brothers was not possible.
Free Camera is a new feature that wasn't in Battle Network Legacy Collection. With the right stick, you can pan the camera around the field, even to the edge of the map.
I think this was to be expected... but you can no longer draw a Brother icon from scratch. Instead, you can choose from a number of character icons from all three games.
Other notes from EXE6_Hack:
- The speed boost feature under the Assist Options is very fast and comfortable
- During battles, he couldn’t hear any character voices. He speculates that this might be because the voices are still being recorded, or perhaps battle voices are only included for certain games in the collection, not all of them.
- The key bindings in the demo were difficult to get used to and could not be changed. It remains unclear whether this is due to the early demo build or if customization simply isn’t possible.
That’s all for now. Gameplay footage should be coming shortly. Many thanks to EXE6_Hack for taking the time to capture these images and share their impressions!
Will they have the original two english voice actors?
ReplyDeleteIs it me, or the 3D Model Navigator seems a bit... off? Too tiny body compared to its head. The one from Battle Network Collection seemed very accurate, but this one's proportions seem strange.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they'll most likely include it since they kept it in Battle Network collection, but I'm kind of curious about the Boktai/Lunar Knights content.
