"Battle Chip Gate" Homebrew Turns Your Game Boy Advance into a Working BCG!

The Mega Man Battle Network homebrew scene continues to amaze once again with the release of "Battle Chip Gate Homebrew"! Created by The Rockman EXE Zone's Greigamaster, this handy app turns a Game Boy Advance with a flash cartridge into a real, working Battle Chip Gate. Simply put, you don't need to fork over an arm and a leg to buy a physical Battle Chip Gate or its complementary Battle Chips anymore. I mean, unless you really want to. It's a neat commodity.

Anyway! This app is 100% compatible with both English and Japanese versions of Mega Man Battle Network 4, 4.5, 5, 6 and Mega Man Zero 3. Users can create folders for easy access to favorite chips and slot-in Program Advance combos automatically, too! Sure, the novelty of physically slotting chips into the gate will be missed... but this app is so much easier to use!

If it piques your interest, head on over to TREZ and read more about it!

Nicely done, Greigamaster! You've really outdone yourself!

  2. Can someone explain to me what it means to be compatible with English Battle Network 6? To the best of my knowledge all Link Gate functionality was stripped for the US.

    1. It was recently discovered that MMBN6 uses a different Chip Gate ID than EXE6, and that's why a regular Beast Link Gate doesn't work with it. As it turned out, the functionality was not actually removed, just inaccessible by virtue of there not being any real Chip Gate that used the new ID.

  3. This seems so amazing. So..I already have a GBA Flast Cart, two GBA SPs, and all of the Megaman Battle Network 1 - 6 series on the GBA. Do I need to get an e - Reader with the cards too? What else is required?
