Rockman X Dive – Command Mission X Model and Artwork

The near-daily Rockman X Dive Facebook updates continue today with a sneak peek at Command Mission X. The image above is a work-in-progress 3D render. Although X's trademark "laser scarf" has yet to be fully implemented, everything is looking pretty faithful to the source material.

The Facebook page also published Keisuke Mizuno's artwork for Command Mission X. You can see what that looks like here or after the break below.

  1. I wonder why they never put the two green lenses on the back of the legs like in the concept source art?
They didn't in CM or here... I think this armor looks better with those additional details.

  2. It's nice to see a model of CM X that looks good. I wasn't a fan of the in-game artstyle from CM, but this really does the design justice.

  3. I'm glad the CM design is making a comeback. It's gonna be interesting seeing it in a 2(.5)D setting.

  4. X's Command Mission design has so far been, and will probably always be, my favorite design for the character.

Honestly, the only thing Keisuke's rendition needs is a little bit of dark around the edges of X's eyes. That little detail always felt like an important part of the design. He's not the young, naive X anymore.

    1. Do you mean the shading, the thickness of his eyelines or both?

    2. Definitely at least the shading, but probably both.

Luckily, the in-game model itself seems fine in regards to this aspect.

  6. I would love for them to HD Remake or Remaster command mission for switch,PS4.

  7. I hope the model gets extracted sometime down the line, because X's Command Mission armor is such a heavy amount of mental gymnastics when trying to draw and having a 3D model ref would be so helpful.
