Jonas, The World's Youngest Mega Man Fan

Here's a pleasant little video we happened across. At age three, little Jonas can not only name practically every Robot Master, but weaknesses and power ups too. Oh, and he pronounces Bass' name correctly. I know guys seven times his age who can't get that one right.

Parenting. You're doing it right!

  1. To be fair, in Megaman 8 he was called Bass(like the fish) while other sources, like NT Warrior, called him Bass(musical)

Or you can just be like me and call him Forte because it sounds cooler(and has a meaning to his character) and there's no argument for it :D

    1. No, he was never called a fish, in 8 or anything. That was merely the MISTAKE of incompetent English voice actors/directors, so why even mention it? Anyone with sense would have made the music pun connection from the start. And "Bass" fits his character too (and is more fitting for his music theme).

Also, "Vile" was a stupid name change. Call him Vava (and call Dr. Weil Dr. Vile), like cool people.

  2. So sad that this kid has to grow in a Megamanless world...

    1. I don't know, I see a lot of Megaman around us right about now, with all the games he's had over the years. It's a hell of a backlog I think he'll enjoy over and over.

    2. Agreed. He'll always have the classics :).

    3. @ bbeams32 he'll have the past classics but no future classics except for xover (a piece of shit game and everybody should feel bad about it)

  3. I wish all of my friends were more like this kid, but sadly, at least 90% of the people I know think Mega Man is gay and I usually get made fun of when someone finds out that I play the games (I'm a junior in high school, btw).

    1. *Shrug*

If you ask me, it's their loss.

    2. Damn, I know how you feel, school sucks. Just hang in there and act like you like CoD or some other shallow nonsense. Things will get better in college and other more mature places in life I would hope for you.

    3. I was there at one point, dude. Trust me, it gets better. When you get into High School just look for kids with more open minded point of view on things, and less narrow minded stick-up-their-butt people, and you'll make some good friends :)

  6. Objection!

I was 2 years old when I first played Rockman 1 when I lived in Hong Kong as a little girl!

    1. Objection!

Are you still two... as of this moment?! Unless you provide irrefutable proof of being below six years of age at this time, the testimony still stands in favor of Jonas as the youngest fan!

...All due seriousness, trying to play it at 2 years of age is pretty remarkable! How far in did you get on your own? Do you remember?

    2. As far as I can recall, the most I could do was beat Cut Man's stage.

But my attention span was pretty bad back then, so I used to only play a little and then went back to Double Dragon II since they were the only two games I had for my Famicom until I moved to Canada when I was around 4-5. I never beat it by myself until I was around 8. But that was after I had beaten X1, Rockman 2-4 and Rockman World 1-4 first.

I remember my family would always give me bootleg Famicom carts on holidays, a lot of them were multi-cart stuff. So I had a lot of multi-carts with Rockman 2 and 3 on them, some even were hacks calling themselves stuff like Rockman 10 (but a hack of 4) and his sprite was always red instead of blue. XD

  7. Well, Protodude, in all of our (mispronouncing) defense, the first official Mega Man game to have a scene with an audio part of Mega Man shouting Bass' name was pronounced Bass like the fish (Mega Man 8).

Granted, I'm sure Dr.'waally' has had a few changes since then too :p

  8. Normally not a fan of kids, but this little guy has won me over! :D

I was 5 when I played my first Mega Man game, and it's nice to see younger people enjoy the games we all grew up with! Heck, I love seeing new fans regardless of age!
