The Closest We'll Get To A Rockman Gigamix Anime

We live in a world where, sadly, there is no such thing as a Rockman Gigamix anime. If there was one however, it would look a lot like the above. Hitoshi Ariga, the man behind Gigamix, gave his blessing to this fan-made mock anime opening, largely influenced by a similar scene from Namco X Capcom.

If your heart can take it, it's well worth the watch. Pure magnificence.

Thanks for the tips, Eric and Shin!

  1. Ariga didn't make it. He found it on nico nico and liked it so much that he asked permission of the creator to upload it to youtube.

    1. I doubt Capcom cares to what we want (MML3), and when they do, they do it wrong (Rockman Crossover).

  6. So, uh... Why hasn't this happened yet?

  7. Ice Man: Wahoo!
Cut Man: Fooled ya, didn't I?
MM2 bots: Sorry, but Shadow Man is busy in other scene.
Yamato Man and Ring Man: Dat Bass...
Spring Man would be great in Bravoman's place, but I see the creator prefered to leave the bots in groups instead of mixing 'em.
Auto must be angry for being absent, as everyone (even Skull Man) appeared... Wait, where's Dark Man 1-4?

  8. It's very well done and I commend the ones who made it.

I've considered the prospects of a Megaman anime ever since I saw the breaking news of a Megaman cartoon in Animation Magazine waaaay back in 93'. Since then I've caught glimpses of what that could be in the OVAs and games like Megaman 8 or Megaman X Command Mission.

But anime has come a long way down since I was a kid. If now were the time for a Rockman anime, I'm afraid it would be horrible. Today's anime scene is a wasteland of minimal animation, slow pan & scan, muted colors, abstract character designs, cliche plot elements/character archetypes and an eerie focus on sexualized moe characters. I can't imagine a Rockman anime not adhering to those modern standards.

Frankly, I probably wouldn't want a Rockman anime because I wouldn't trust them to make it any good.

And for the record, I don't count the NT Warrior or Star Force anime because... well... they're not Megaman as far as I'm concerned.

    1. By Wily's eyebrows! You can't stop being a cynical, self-important, elitist jerk even when you're trying to be positive, can you?

    2. NT Warrior is just one of those anime the main hero is a young person that saves the world with a toy, like Yu-Gi-Oh! (cards with hearts), Medabots (small robot toys) and Beyblade (tops with beasts), in an internet-focused world with bad anti-viruses and firewalls. Star Force has a small Power Rangers vibe to it. While they aren't great, they aren't bad either, but I'd rather see an original or X series anime.

Naw, I agree with Prof.. That's what I also wanted to say besides the oh so typical (and non-Mega-Man-ish) music killing it for me. 99.999% of modern anime / manga is tasteless recycled garbage, and so are it's fans. And so are modern Japanese video games.

    5. @Anon1: Hm...It's good to know that something that controls the internet in a world where the internet controls most everyday living functions is a "toy". Might as well add Star Force has a DBZ vibe to it, oh and a Yugioh vibe, Star Trek vibe, anything that features Mu vibe to it. SMH critics on this site are so strong.

And that is why you fail. Almost everything you complain about that's wrong with anime nowadays has not only been part of the industry seen the beginning; but gaming as well, including Rockman/Megaman.

If there was to be a Rockman/X anime, it well not be a perfect adaption, nor would it be like the shameless, attention grabbers that you are complaining about. Rockman is kid focused series so it would be a kid focused anime, so it have a lot in common with NT Warrior and Star Force and even the American cartoon. The likes of Day of Sigma are really only longs cutscenes for the game, and have no real foundation for a 26+ episode series.
Either way, a Megaman anime wouldn't be good to person that seems to hates everything Megaman related.

  9. Is there a way to fund this? Because this needs to be a project we can fund. Because I would find the everloving-crap out of this. And I didn't even think I'd like it! But I love it!! ... I genuinely want more!
