Something appears to be amiss on Steam's backend, with achievements for several unreleased and even unannounced games surfacing on Exophase, a site that tracks Steam achievements. Among them is the complete achievement list for Mega Man: Dual Override, despite the game still being a long way from release.
I won't post the achievements directly here, as they spoil the names of the Robot Masters and other features that have not yet been announced by Capcom. If you want to go into Dual Override completely blind, or simply wait for Capcom to reveal these details on its own terms, be advised that the spoilers are now out there. Major spoiler warning.

Gotta say that I lowkey knew Sweeper Woman was not going to get in if there was at least 1 female Robot Master in the game already (and this shows that there's more than 1 too, and neither of them is Sweeper)
ReplyDeleteBut generally speaking I think they went with some "out there" boss themes this time around
I ain't complaining. We got Twinkle Girl and that's good enough.
Deletewell to be fair, we did get two. One is Sand Woman. Really excited to see what she looks like honestly.

bass is the final boss of the game? and different endings for mega man and proto man? if so, hype
Just saw a short video from ShadowRockZX on youtube about it about an hour ago and his worry it could disrupt Capcom's schedule. I hope not.
ReplyDeleteAt risk of a faulty memory, Mega Man 11's achievement listing order for consoles more or less gave away the weakness loop - or at least I remember feeling that way when I saw it after doing a first playthrough with a friend.
ReplyDeleteI believe Steam lists them by percentage of players completing said achievement instead, but I'm bringing this up in case they end up pulling something like that again.
Mega Man 11 didn't have individual achievements for defeating every robot master or boss, only for defeating 4 and 8
DeleteThe order present here is probably arbitrary rather than an indication of anything
On closer inspection, it would appear the achivement order correlates with their serial number seen how Twinkle Girl is literally on the top, so basically DWN-89 to 97. None of these seem to suggest any weakness order
DeleteWith Twinkle Girl being first and her being the earliest number, they’re probably in Wily Number order (which technically isn’t arbitrary).
Delete"Hot-Headed Hermanos"
ReplyDeleteI really hope this one doesn't cause any controversy
[SPOILER]
ReplyDeleteNot only is Bass in the game... Not only can he be fought (which hasn't happened since Mega Man 8, which'll be over thirty years ago by the time Dual Override is released) in addition to possibly be playable afterwards (as the empty slot next to Proto Man on the official site indicates), but he may also be the final boss on top of the fact? This is all I have to say to that. To me, this is like finding out about King K. Rool's return to the Donkey Kong series after eighteen years.
Doubt it considering there are only achivements for beating the game as Mega Man and Proto Man, no suggestion for additional characters
Delete(Also, no 60-minute speedrun achivement either)
True, but he may still end up as DLC, but but with a scenario where his story (or maybe lackthereof, like Proto Man in MM9) isn't reflected in the rankings or the achievements, much like Mega Man 10.
DeleteOh, another hting I forgot to mention. There was a recent interview with the game's producer, Shinya Ikuta. When he was asked about the possibility of other playable characters being added in addition to Proto Man, I couldn't help noticing the lack of a "no" in his response.
DeleteIf anything, reading some of these achivements made me MORE hype for the game than I already was.

Don't read further if you want to avoid spoilers.

Finding out Bass is gonna be here makes my hype go WAAAAAY HIGH! He's my GOAT and I was sure he wasn't gonna show up. Im glad I was wrong! BASS THE GOAT! WOHOOO!
Dangit, my favorite didn't win the contest.
ReplyDeleteI thought he might, and good he supposedly does, based on some of what the people here are saying in this thread topic. Of course I heard a VA that was said to play him was included in this game or something many months ago, so it was already hinted at and not too surprising. https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLeaksAndRumours/comments/1pldrf5/rumour_voice_actor_might_have_accidentally_hinted/
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for Bass but i'm honsetly kinda disappointed about Cleanser man. Why? It's not that he doesn't look cool, but imo he just looks way too much like Tundra Man from the previous game. The side bang covering half his head, his facial expression, the whole "elegant" demeanor and Cleanser man's extending rope-like hand resembles Tundra man's pony tail too. He even has a spinning attack similar to Tundra Man's ability and weapon you get from him. I can't be the only one who doesn't see it, but did the people at Capcom not see this? I was really hoping for Sweeper Woman, she may not have had the best abilities, but she undoubtedly had the best design imo. Loved her maid outfit, inflatable hair and vaccum cleaner arm.
ReplyDeleteNah I see it, too. Valve Man was better imo.
DeleteI feel they just picked the one with the least complicated design: Cleanser Man is just very humanoid-shaped with no other decorations other than the hairdo thing and the leg warmers. All of the other designs were too specific and unique in how they went about the "vacuum arm" template, which Capcom might not be necessarily interested in adhering so much as they probably already designed the weapons first (since they're gameplay actions, which are far more important than the characters that grant them, mind you)
DeleteI'm curious about two achievements among these. One says "The fated Showdown" for defeating Bass and another that says "Not my Forte". I wonder what this means, it just says "defeat the Ultimate Rival". Is this talking about a second fight with Bass or something? Perhaps him with the treble adaptor? Or maybe a fake Bass maybe? I dunno, just weird that we have two achievements referencing Bass apparently.
ReplyDeleteJudging from the order in which the achievements are listed, there definitely seems like there are two battles against Bass; one of which takes place before the battle against Dr. Wily, while the other may take place afterwards. If then happens, then I'm all for it. Even putting aside how huge a Bass fan I am, the Classic series can definitely stand to shake things up every now and then, and have someone other than Dr. Wily be the final boss, which rarely happens. The only other instances of this were in Mega Man World 5 and , which had Sunstar and Ra Moon.
DeleteI meant "Super Adventure Rockman" in that last sentence. Somehow, it didn't turn out right. I must have messed up the tag.
