While Mega Man Xtreme still hasn’t received a proper modern port through a Legacy Collection, fans of the Game Boy Color title now have something pretty close to celebrate.
Tommycase has released Mega Man DXtreme, an enhanced PC revamp of Mega Man Xtreme by CX2 Team with improved controls, widescreen support, a reimagined story, new graphics, and several other upgrades. You can see it in action in the trailer above!
You can download the full game from Tommycase’s itch.io page here. A browser version is also available.
Well this is hecking neat! Gonna have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteTomycase really is a guy of many talents.
ReplyDeleteOnce again fans have a 6 pack and Capcom has a beer belly. 🫡
ReplyDeleteI always know whenever news about a fangame gets posted, you'll come here like clockwork with the usual "fans are doing more than Crapcom" comment.
DeleteCapcom is literally developing a new game for the current generation of consoles. Fans are doing cool things too, but to compare a nicer-looking port of Xtreme to Dual Override is just ridiculous.
I know you're used to saying the same things on here ad-nauseum but you really need to come up with some new material now.
Besides, this is just a passion project at the end of the day. It's not like Tomycase and the rest of the dev team asked to be compared to or hired by an AAA company.
DeleteTomycase is one of my favorite Mega Man artists, so it's nice to see him attached to this project.
ReplyDeleteThis looks great! Gotta hand it to the fan community for keeping the franchise alive and kicking. I remember loving the Xtreme games on GBC.
