Mega Man X #5 Udon Store Exclusive Variant Revealed

Although the standard covers have not been revealed yet, Udon has gone ahead and unveiled the Udon Store exclusive cover for Mega Man X #5 by Atomic Marshmallow. Rounding out the "ladies of X" collage are Mega Man X DiVE's RiCO and iCO. Pre-orders open tomorrow at 9am PT.

Here's the solicitation:

"It's the final issue, and the final climactic battle—X versus Sigma! X will have to use every weapon, armor piece, and secret technique in his arsenal to hold his own against the leader of the Mavericks!"

Mega Man X #5 is expected to arrive in-stores on July 29th.

  1. Surprising to see the variant cover out before we end up seeing the full cover.

  2. Sorry to be that guy but it's iCO, not NiCO :)

  3. Atomic Marshmallow did my girl so good on this! If these Udon alt issues weren't so expensive I'd get it to frame on my wall.

  4. Why Ico? Why not Berkana who's an actual reploid? Why these lame OCs who don't look anything like Mega Man characters?

    1. Because Berkana has already been shown to be on the cover of issue #3 alongside Nana. It may not have been shown on this blog site, but the League of ComicGeeks has the solicitation for it here if you don't believe me: https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comic/9296951/mega-man-x-3

    2. That's Ferham, not Berkana. Ferham is from Command Mission. Berkana is from Xtreme 2.

    4. wow: This is what happens when you just come back from vacation after a 10 hour flight from Europe with NO internet connection whatsoever: Whether the pain pounding in my head is from the jetlag or from the 8-hour time difference, it just goes to show how loopy memory goes when you suffer from lack of sleep.
With my head reset, let me try to explain: X Dive came out in 2020, iCo debut in 2021, the game ended in 2023 (2024 for global version). In that time, she was in public view for two to three years for people to see and eventually know, compared to Berkana, who was in one handheld game that came out almost twenty-five years ago, quietly forgotten, and (outside of a cameo in a comic book) nobody other than devoted Megaman fans would recognize. Is it really surprising that other female characters (such as Minerva & Luna from Maverick Hunter X) would be chosen over a one-off boss from a game that got little visible exposure compared to X Dive, Maverick Hunter X, & Command Mission. Heck, I'd bet that Iris -another- will have a better chance of appearing on the cover of a Megaman X comic before Berkana does.

    5. Eh, I think it’s just that they didn’t have another girl to pair with Berkana. Ironically, they could’ve paired her with the MHX navigator as a sort of “handheld spinoff duo,” if they didn’t make the unused design into a character too. I guess if they really wanted to get creative, they could make a character out of the scrapped X1 navigator… Or use Merti, but manga characters probably aren’t on the table.

Eh, it’s the last cover anyway. And we all know they’d get to Droitclair and Eratoeir first!
