The remnants of the Yellow Turban rebels have secretly been researching the mystical arts of the Taiping Sect and ancient mechanical engineering, aiming to use these forgotten powers to rise again. The result is a strange energy—one powerful enough to tear open a dimensional rift.

Meanwhile, sometime in the future, Rockman is locked in fierce combat with a powerful enemy. In the heat of battle, a dimensional rift suddenly appears. A violent surge of energy pulls both Rockman and his foe into the rift, transporting them to the Central Plains of the Three Kingdoms era.
