God I hate the X re-design in this game.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both, bro. The ball joint for the abdominal area looks weird.
DeleteBro thinks he’s Vectorman.
Deleteabsolute rule - except X isn't a robot
ReplyDeleteHe's generally accepted as a robot. He was the last type of robot to be built by Dr. Light. All derivatives of X are Reploids.
DeleteI was under the impression they're not officially under Asimov's rules in most media. I asked a friend and they said it only happens in the Archie series, which I do not follow.
DeleteRight but the whole thing with him is he wasn't bound by the rules of robotics
DeleteI never even figured Asimov’s laws was a prerequisite for being a robot. It’s not like he invented the term, that was Karel Čapek.
Delete@Jark Yeah, it's not. Besides that, reploids and X in the series have other ways of dealing with that. X had lots of virtual training, and at least some media seem to say the two ways of being declared an Irregular are through law enforcement itself, or I think in the manga, actions that give off a signal that flag the reploid as an Irregular.
DeleteFurthermore, even Robot Masters are able to harm people, like Strike Man. And I don’t think Neon Tiger’s anti-poacher escapades were technically Maverick behavior.
DeleteAlso I just really wanna make this correction: it was actually Karel’s brother, Josef. Karel wanted to call them “labori” but thought it was too artificial (oh the irony!).
Like Early Concept Megaman Zero
ReplyDeleteHuh, good catch.
DeleteTeppen X just having part of the very core of X's character nullified for the sake of a "hype moment" is hilarious. All of a sudden, the character known for being meant to stand out as human-like, emotionally driven and incorruptible is none of these things and arbitrarily has the laws of robotics apply to him after he gets controlled by The Really Evil Guy into killing everyone.
