Mega Man Legends PC Port Gets Unofficial Repack, Playable on Modern Hardware

Where Capcom slacks, fans are more than happy to pick up the slack. That old adage rings true today with news that the 2001 PC port of Mega Man Legends has been repackaged and fixed to run on modern machines thanks to KuroRaiden

With the help of DxWrapper, he’s created a build that works on Windows 10 and 11 while also resolving long-standing compatibility issues. The update eliminates forced auto-fullscreen and, by including the “Unfinished Business” patch, replaces the port’s low-quality audio files with high-quality WAVs sourced from the original PlayStation release. The repack also adds Xinput-to-Dinput support.

As for Steam Deck compatibility, KuroRaiden notes that it’s doable, though it may require tinkering with GE-Proton and other Wine layers.

Until an official re-release surfaces on something like GOG, this is a nice hassle-free option. Download it here!

KuroRaiden is available on Twitter and Bluesky for support and troubleshooting. Let him know if you run into any issues!

    1. They cancelled it long ago. There was a whole campaign where people got to vote on the new characters and villains. It was pretty cool I think it was going to be a Nintendo 3DS title at the time.

  3. I am SO unbelievably tired and sick to death of this eye-rollingly gross, cringy, forced, obnoxiously misleading and entitled, self-masturbatory and self-righteous narrative of "dA sOulEsS bIg eVIl cOrPoRaTioN wOnT gIvE iT tOo yOu bUt nEVR fEar, tHe FANS r coMen 2 dA ResCuE 2 dO wHaT dEy wOnT aNd giVE U whUt THEY dOnT WANT yoU ta HaVE!!!!!!111" being spewed around like sputtering diarrhea from the butt of every self-servingly delusional fandom on the planet.

    1. If you don’t like hearing about fanworks, you probably shouldn’t be on a fan site for a dead series. Everyone’s still glazing SEGA after they remembered they have more than 6 Sonic characters, maybe start there.

  4. Hey, is there any way to alter the game controls? I'm used to legends on the ps1 and I'm trying to figure out how to use my switch pro to recreate that experience.
