  1. F4F continues to disappoint with these designs.
I'm curious about the motivation for F4F to keep trying with Mega Man, as it's a pretty niche property compared to a lot of other things, and it doesn't seem like a labor of love given how wonky basically every single one of these statues has looked for years.

    1. huh, I dunno, thought these and the Megaman11 figure from a while back looked pretty nice tbh. Wasn't aware people weren't vibing with F4F.

    2. Yeah, the most recent figures of X and Zero actually look pretty decent and the faces look miles better compared to the old ones. F4F are clearly giving it their all when it comes to these newer Mega Man figures and I think that’s cool, It shows that their learning from their past mistakes.

    3. yeah, they're usually pretty ugly, especially for the cost.

Like, look at the figurearts Sigma statue. it's huge and beautiful. the pose is fantastic and the model is spot on. $130. the sentinel falcom armor X figure with lights and stuff went for $160 or so. they're asking for like $500, and give them like the goofiest expressions and poses.

Like, they could have made X doing his classic holding buster jumping back and shooting pose, that would've been awesome, but they go with a pose that looks like classic's in-game jump, and he just looks like he's saying "wwaaaaaahhhh".

I get that the material might add more to the cost, but for $300+ more than most higher end good looking mega man merch, I expect it to at least match the cheaper stuff when it comes to looks!

You're totally right. Another virtue of the figures you mentioned -- with the exception of Sentinel's Falcon, which has some die cast -- is that they're made of plastic. I think I even paid less than $100 for my Sigma FiguartsZERO when it first released.

F4F needs to stop using polystone, as part of the reason these things are expensive is weight and fragility, so it costs a bunch to get them overseas in specially-designed packaging. You can't blister pack or clamshell polystone. Polystone also doesn't capture detail as well as PVC. I know F4F does use PVC for many things, and those are generally less expensive pieces. Electronics obviously factor into cost, but not to the tune of hundreds of dollars for a few LEDs. I have some (PVC) Gecco statues with light-up features, and they make cost-comparable F4F pieces look like cheesy gift shop garbage.

F4F offerings (across other IPs, and not just Rockman) always seem a little tone-deaf to me.

    5. It very likely is a labor of Love.
But loving something doesn't mean they'll be able to do it well.
I think they really do like Mega Man X, but make a few mistakes when creating the figures.

    6. Not too familiar with the rest of their offering, but I have seen other statue makers struggling to get the face right for characters with more animes or simplified style when they are used to make "realistic" characters.

  2. MMX Dive Kees releasing new content, X and Zero in Teppen, MMX/Minecraft collab, constant new merch…. Are we getting a X9 soon???

    1. No, they would rather waste time and money taking the easier cheaper way out by continuing the Dive nonsense, so what is their incentive to make X9 at the moment? This seems never ending and already went past the 3 year mark. It is getting old.

    2. X series is more or less a zombie at this point.

    3. They'll make X9 to make more characters and costumes for X-dive
