  1. Hopefully there will be a swtich version announced, also a little disappointed they didn't throw in the SNES version of Mega Man and Bass since that's never seen a proper western release and would have been a good selling point.
A wild man's dream would have been if they included Rockboard, Battle and Chase, Power Fighter games and Rockman Adventure.

  2. and here we are with an other trash collection, only 4 games this time guys!

  3. The footage of Aqua Man's stage shows a lack of underwater ripple effects indicates that once again, the superior Sega Saturn version of Mega Man 8 (featuring Cut Man, Wood Man, remastered soundtrack, and Bonus Mode) got the shaft.

    I'm very, very, very disappointed.

  4. I hope they keep the Rockman Legacy feature of keeping Japanese Language for the games, specially for Rockman 8

    1. Digital Eclipse is not involved; don't expect the same attention to detail and desire to offer a "complete" package. This is an easy cash grab by Capcom. Digital Eclipse said their goal was to treat games like Criterion treats films, so the fact that they are not involved makes me think that we're not going to receive that level of reverence with this collection.

I agree that a Japanese language option would be great, but I doubt it will happen.

    2. Guess, you'll have to make do with Doctor Wahwee if it isn't included...

  5. No Mega Man & Bass, no Nintendo version.
I'm supposed to throw my money at the screen, but you aren't expecting me to throw out my copy of Anniversary Collection and Bass GBA for just two games that never had physical releases, right, Capcom?

  6. Good to see 9 and 10 in a compilation. Any idea whether the Saturn bonus boss fights against Cut Man and Wood Man are included? I'm guessing not but have always wanted to play their 32-bit versions.

  7. Lack of &Bass is a tad sad, though it probably has to do with the lack of an English translation of the SNES version, and bundling a GBA emulator likely would've been too much effort to add on top.

But I'll buy it just for 9 and 10 alone.

    1. If isn't even that much text, they can easily alter the game and translate it. Sucks that it isn't included.

  8. 1) no Rockman & Forte (Mega Man & Bass), I don't see why I got skipped.
    2) No Switch version. I'm gonna assume that they were working on this before Switch Dev was available. It'd be wise if Capcom made an full 1-10 collection version for Switch since Switch didn't even exist when Collection 1 came out.
    3) Which version of Mega Man 8 they gonna use, the Sega Saturn version or the PS version? I think most of us would agree that the Saturn version was the better of the two.
    4) God, I hope they don't edit the translations like they did on Anniversary Collection and leave the splash scene ending on Mega Man 7 intact. That LITERALLY was the best thing about beating MM7, seeing THAT at the end.
    5) I know it's technically a fan project, but it would have been cool of SF x MM was in it, like as a hidden unlockable... lol, MAYBE it is?!?!......

Yeah, I already have Collection 1 on PS4, no sense not

I only played up to 6 this has me curious.

    2. Mega Man 7 on the anniversary collection cut out to black with text scroll in place of the little cutscene present on the SNES (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoDlJalEFG4 at 1:26:30 mark). This was likely due to the emulation not handling mode 7 graphics, so a shortcut was taken.

      Delete
    3. I don't think SF X MM could be included, poor game couldn't even run properly on PC. Sadly, despite being officialy backed up by Capcom USA, I don't think it's more than a novelty.

  9. This site links to Capcom Unity, which links to megaman.capcom, which links to Amazon... which doesn't have a listing up for it yet. D'oh.

  10. I am so.... disappointed. Like, first they have the NERVE to cut out Megaman & Bass and call it a complete set, that game already gets ignored as a main series title just because it's numbered. Second, not even a Switch or 3Ds version? Consider one customer lost.

    1. Agree, like, oh look, just a little Japanese text that can easily be translated using today's technology, nah, too much work, release it as it is, like anyone cares, it doesn't even have a number.

I bet porting 9 and 10 took far more effort than just minimally altering a simple SNES game. One that doesn't make use of Mode 7 or utilizes any special chip. Heck, I don't think it even uses parallax scrolling.

      Delete
  11. Sucks the rumor was true. Would've been a-okay to forget translating RM&F, imo. Not like it's any less playable that way.

I'll still get this, just for the remixed stages of MM7 and MM8.

  12. Awesome that it's confirmed, but... Seriously? No Switch version, again? This is EXTREMELY stupid, given that the first collection sold the best on the 3DS, a Nintendo system. I've got a PC, and I can already play these games on it, but it would've been nice to officially play this in portable form.

I'm both baffled and angry at Capcom, because once again, this would've been perfect to play on the go, but their all-too-important "Nintendo support" leaves them with a bunch of people now pestering them for a Switch port of THIS game, along with The Disney Afternoon Collection. Most of these games are from a Nintendo console, so why make the Switch owners miss out on something this simple? I'm starting to think that the Rainway app will be the only option for a portable Mega Man 9 and 10.

  14. Maybe we could expect a third Legacy collection with all the missing titles (Power Battle 1&2, Mega Man & Bass, Battle & Chase, the Gameboy series, etc.)

    1. As much as I want to see the gamebody collection, I don`t want to see another one, Capcom seiously needs to stop putting out collections after collections of the same game titles. They should start making new games.

      Delete
    2. I would only want a third Legacy Collection if it consisted of Mega Man & Bass, Battle & Chase, The Power Battle, The Power Fighters, Mega Man Soccer (maybe a "complete" version), and, for the first time ever in English, Mega Board. Just translate Rockboard and Rockman & Forte. The rest should be easy enough, but hey, I don't code games so I don't know the true extent of the tasks.

It may not be much, but Capcom doesn't understand how many people would purchase just for those official translated versions. Hell, Capcom could crowd fund the release of official cartridge versions and it'd be a complete success.

      Delete
    3. In the next 10 or 20 years, Capcom will still continue to put out the same old Megaman titles and people will still continue to support this pathetic cash grabbing company known as Capcom. Its pretty sad that we have other old and classic titles that have been out just as long as Megaman, and those titles have evolved into such amazing games, games such as Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Metal Gear, and Metroid, meanwhile, where is Megaman stuck in? the 8bit and 16bit zone, this is the year 2017, not 1998. Am I the only fan on this blog that cares about the future of Megaman games evolving and changing for the better? As much as I like the classic Megaman games, I already own these games, they`re outdated, its time to move on and try something new with the Megaman series, there are so many different ways to create a new Megaman game and it doesn`t have to involve 2d platforms and the same rehashed ideas.

      Delete
  15. WOw, really Capcom, how can some people be excited for this? I will never understand it. At this point I`m done with Capcom.

    ReplyDelete
  16. The only collection I'll buy would be a Rockman World set (the gameboy games) hopfully in color, as I have the anniversary collection and own a physical copy of all these games that had one.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Pretty excited! Gonna enjoy having these games on the PS4. One thing I noticed is that on the challenge mode, it had (Mega Man) on the select menu. Could there be an option to play as Bass? It shouldn't be difficult to put in there, I wouldn't think. It'd be nice to go through some levels and bosses as him.

  18. Feels good to have new Mega Man art in the Keiji style.

  19. No 3DS release...?! Oh. Oh. Ooohh...

Also, Digital Eclipse isn't involved with this one, eh? So these are going to be straight-up emulations instead of half-emulation, half-original code, then? Not sure how I feel about that.

Also-also, gotta love the fact the Rockman Killers are featured prominently on the art, even though their only appearance is in Mega Man 10 as DLC. Wouldn't it make more sense to... I dunno... have art of the Mega Man 10 Robot Masters instead of the DLC characters? Just sayin'!

    1. Well, the New Nintendo 3DS _barely_ can play SNES without major slowdowns. So a PSX/Saturn game is out of the question. (You can see tons of videos about emulators for the New 3DS and you can see that the frame rate is atrocious)

      Delete
    2. And it never occurred to you that the emulators were under or badly developed?

Cause all the eshop SNES games I have on N3DS run flawlessly, and those are emulated. Also this is not running on 3DS emulation its running on its own code as a standalone game.

Saying that these games couldn't run on 3DS is weird since outside of sound and resolution GBA could run SNES ports and throw in another brand new title on the same cartridge (ZeldaLttP/FS).

Are you saying GBA could run SNES ports but N3DS can't?

Regular 3DS has enhanced ports of PS2 games (yes DQ8 is enhanced, the slight graphical difference is from the fact that the 3DS version is based on the mobile version, it also comes with way more features than the PS2 game), enhanced remakes of PS1/N64 games and even ports of PS3 games, and you think it can't handle PS1 standard sprite-based ports???

  22. What is it with Capcom's collections lately? First they release a NES collection with all of their Disney games but leave out The Little Mermaid, and then they release a Mega Man 7-10 collection but leave out Mega Man 8.5 (Mega Man & Bass). While I am happy to get Mega Man 9 and 10 on PC, Capcom really needs to plan things out better. The fact that Mega Man & Bass has been left out of Legacy Collection 2 makes me think that the chances of seeing it re-released anytime soon are very, very slim. :(

    1. The Little Mermaid was never a part of the Disney Afternoon, that's why........sigh.

I mean I agree with you but still.

    2. "The Little Mermaid was never a part of the Disney Afternoon, that's why........sigh."

Yeah, I understand why it is titled the way it is, but I guess that the way that I see it is that the "Disney Afternoon Collection" would have been just as easily been titled "Disney Legacy Collection" had The Little Mermaid been included. Releasing all of their NES games except for one comes across to me as lazy as opposed to sticking to the theme of "Disney Afternoon".

  23. Hey guys, you want to buy all of these games AGAIN?

    1. If you are fan, sure. If you are fan and don't want to buy all of these game again then you re not fan. It might be 19.99 or 29.99 and it is still cheap. YES, BUY IT!!

      Delete
    2. Not buying it doesn't make him any less of a fan. As someone who has a collection of the first 8 games, and owns them in their orginal cartridges, it would be a waste of money to continue to rebuy the same games.

      Delete
    3. It's not just the long time fans, they are targeting though. The current generation missed those opportunities to get the anniversary collection on PS2.
So for that alone, purchase or not, this is a valid release.

  24. I'm down just for 9 and 10 finally getting a PC release. I never had the systems they were originally released on, so it'll be nice to finally get to play them.

I wouldn't be surprised if they used the PS version of 8 again considering how notoriously difficult the Saturn is to emulate.

I am a bit disappointed with the lack of MM&B though. It would have rounded out the collection nicely. But I suppose they would need/want it localized, and I suppose it would be too difficult to modify a SNES binary to that extent. Unless they licensed the fan translation or something, I dunno.

  25. Switch version makes too much sense. When you die for the 100th time on the wily jet boarding stage you could just detach your joy cons and throw then against the wall.

  26. Happy to have 9 and 10 on disc but only 4 games and no 3DS and specially Switch release is disappointing. I sincerely hope they release both collections for Switch at some point.

  27. Pretty excited as I will now have 9 and 10 on a physical disc!

And for everyone complaining about Capcom in general....why are you still doing it?

Capcom has been doing things that have angered fans for quite some time yet people still act surprised and complain. It would be beneficial if it actually helped but apparently it does not so why get so worked up?

  28. Agreed that it's lame there's no switch or 3DS version. Bought the last one digitally on PC and physically on 3DS.

I have a ps4 but I do not want it on that, BLEH!!!! But if that's the only physical version (not counting the xbox one, which might as well not exist) looks like I have no choice but to get it on PS4. Capcom being lame, but what else is new.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I am tempted, especially on PS4. I want to see what the trophy list is and maybe I will wait for a flash sale. But in all likelihood I will buy it sooner or later.

I would be extremely interested in a PS4 legacy collection for X and Zero series. With trophies of course :)

I would be supremely interested in a new game classic or X game, that's NOT part of the new TV show continuity.
