The Day of Sigma Has Been Digitally Restored

Thanks to an intrepid fellow by the name of Silk Encoder, you can now watch The Day of Sigma in its highest quality yet

Unlike previous rips (which tend to be oversaturated or washed out) Silk Encoder actually went into Maverick Hunter X's source files, ripped the video and audio, synced it, and encoded the whole package to 1280x720 in meGUI. It's a big step-up from the 480x272 source and it should hold us over until Capcom provides an official HD release. If they ever do.

If you like what you see you can head to YouTube and grab yourself the file directly from the video description.

Enjoy!

  1. Disappointment! No English subtitle for a hearing impaired people like me. Sighing.

    3. Protodude, Excuse me, could you re-upload the script? I have plans to translate this special and it would help me a lot.

  2. If that dude doesn't SHOOT THAT BUSTER.....XD

Seriously this was such a good short film. I wish they would make more prequels or even sequels! Can you guys imagine a short film telling of Wily and Light's past? Maybe even the creation days of Blues? His time at Light Labs? Now I know we have the Archie telling, which I LOVE, but this would be awesome animated!

    1. What you say is more fitting for the Classic series, but this is more for the X series. I personally always imagined what a second OVA for Maverick Hunter X would be if a sequel happened. It would be something along the lines of X trying to cope with being the leader of the Hunters and regaining the trust of humans while hunting the remnant Mavericks in the 6-month period between the first and second game.

    2. Dude you're really lively and positive, that's kinda unusual around here, in a good way.

    3. I been coming here for years. I just finally decided to start speaking up. Lot of negativity, and not that it's unprovoked, because we really DO need some love in the Mega department, but there's always good even in the worst situations! Just figured I'd point some of it out, and share ideas, encourage others with theirs!

    4. @Rock X that would be a really good one too! Even X coping with Zero's loss! It would be a tear jerker!

    5. @Chad: Actually, speaking of Zero, a few months ago on TMMN, a user named Skytric does MHX style remixes for X2, X3, and X4 which was featured in a news article on the site: it was announced he made a patch to add his MHX style remixes in the PC version of X4: in the comments, he (under his real name I think) & I talked a bit of what extras would've been if MHX2 existed; The first was the aforementioned OVA, and the second would be a "Zero Mode" in the same vein of MHX's Vile Mode. The basic idea goes that Zero, being rebuilt by the X-Hunters, gets activated too early, causes some destruction that allows him to escape and wonder around. The 8 Mavericks are sent to either retrieve or destroy him. After two are beaten, then either the X-Hunters decide to intervene & try to stop him themselves (as in the original), or X gets informed of the Mavericks getting destroyed by a "Red Reploid", wonders if its his friend back from the dead, then chooses to go out and find him on his own (in which case he would substitute the X-Hunters to fight in the secret areas).

  4. I see they didn't fix the bloated, redundant script. Too bad.

  7. not interested if not in japanese.... maybe extracting the audio for the japanese ova and putting it as second track could be an option

  8. Next someone will ask for a DVD release with English and Japanese audio and subs, plus the X and Vile modes OP & ED and the bosses dialogue. :P
Joke aside (although not a bad idea), gotta love the quality of this video! What did Silk used to rip the contents from the files?

  9. I did an extraction of the video and both audios once upon a time. I might still have them and be able to put it up somewhere.
