'Super Fighting Robot' is an Excellent 8-bit Mega Man Romp

If Mega Man Legacy Collection has you hankering for more classic NES action, look no further than Mega Man: Super Fighting Robot. Developed by MrWeirdGuy, this new fan-game delivers new twists and turns to the already tried-and-true Mega Man formula. There's a bevy of secrets to find, difficulty modes for every kind of player, and some unique RPG-elements.

You can download the game here. For added replay value, additional content is planned for the future. How about a boss fight with the one and only Shovel Knight? It's possible. Stay tuned to the game's official Facebook for future updates.

  1. Well... Guess I know what I'm going to be making a bug/criticism list for today. Maybe. I dunno. I'm still a little burnt-out from Mega Man Revolution (Sprites INC version)... And these "8-bit" fan games in general... This one looks pretty good though, so it'll probably be a case of "I don't wanna play it" becoming "I'm glad I played this" within two or three stages. Heh.

  2. Good to see this game get some recognition here, I just started playing it the other day and it's really fun. A lot of effort was clearly put into trying to make it unique and authentic.

  3. Sweet. Now if only someone would put out an excellent 16-bit romp in the form of a Mega Man X fangame.

    1. 8-bit vs. 16-bit... That would be at least 2x the amount of work to create. :)

  6. I can't use the controller on this game...?

  7. Aside from no controller use this seems like a solid fangame. Not a fan of the charge shot, but still, I honestly enjoyed it. Even more than Unlimited.

  8. I really would like to see a fangame using the MM8 engine. Really burnt out on the hundreds of 8-bit fan games.
