TruForce Announces NYCC Exclusive 'X-Kai Mega Man X' Figure (Updated)

Exclusive to New York Comic Con 2015, TruForce Collectibles is releasing a limited edition "X-Kai Mega Man X" figure. It's being advertised as an original character; X's evil counterpart made by a mysterious man during the events of Mega Man X2. Check out the full reveal after the break!

TruForce writes:

TruForce Collectibles is pleased to announce an exclusive figure from the Mega Man X franchise exclusively for New York Comic Con. X-Kai! X-Kai is X’s evil counterpart developed by a mysterious man during the formation of the X-Hunters.
He was given much higher specs than that of X and uses state-of-the-art technology. This figure features over 30 points of articulation, die-cast armor on the chest, shins and feet, an LED X-Buster, purple effects parts and a completely unique paint application that is sure to stand out in any display!
MSRP: $89.99

UPDATE: "To all Kickstarter backers -- there will be an opportunity to purchase this figure as well. Please stay tuned for more details."

The back story is pretty random, admittedly. Why not just use IX/RX? Eh, whatever.

You'll find even more images at this post here. NYCC starts next month!

  1. Looks pretty cool! I'm glad I didn't invest in the Kickstarter prototype since this version looks so much better than the gray figurine.

  2. Sooo... Bass X?

Mega Man X-Kai doesn't exist, according to Google, so I'm gonna assume this is a recolor of sorts.

    1. He's even got those purple eye-lines, which I colloquially call Bass Lines, since he's the most notable character I've seen with them them.

  3. The story for it seems a little silly, but man if that isn't a good color scheme. Actually, the more I look at it the more it reminds me of Bass. The gold and black roughly match up on the armor with Bass' own even.

  4. The alternate color has a backstory??? Are we sure there's not a secret new MMX game being made? Just like the speeder bike art for this figure it makes me wonder if there is...

  5. Looks very similar to that armor that was shown off in the Rockman Holic OST's X-Buster trailer, very cool though, just a shame anyone unable to attend NYCC will no doubt have to pay a premium to an e-bay scalper to get one :/

  6. Oh come on! I'm trying to save money here! I missed out on the kickstarter due to financial issues and figured I'd just save and get them both eventually, and now this too!
I'll admit that I do like how they tied in the Return X/ RX/ IKS, as the eyes was a dead give away for me at first glance.
I can see how everyone says that it reminds them of Bass because of the colors of course. But the colors remind me more of Gawain from Code Geass. Still, if I get the funds for it, i'll pick one up.

  7. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some sublicensing issue around iX/RX, what with the card sets having been handled by Carddass (Bandai) and those characters only existing in the card sets. There might be some weird ownership or republishing issues.

As much as I like iX as a concept, this design is much kinder to the eyes, lol -- and that they're being permitted to attach a character/background to the figure (however basic) is an interesting development.

  8. You can't fool me, that's iX right there, the lines down his eyes shows that's him. Sadly they didn't made it green. But hey, it's iX

  11. Love the idea of a copy X for X to fight in X2 instead of Zero, but I was hoping this would be a new exclusive armor for X instead of a recolor OC. I don't think I'll be buying it for that price, or at all, but kudos for the idea. It's not like Capcom's doing anything interesting with X right now.

    1. Copy X, OMG don't mention anything of the Zero series! Zero series Zero tanked/killed the Kotobukiya line, and now the D-Arts/SH Figuarts line too. If this line continues or plans to continue, stay the F away from the Zero series, leave that series to the independent sculptors that show case in the Wonder Festival. PERIOD!

    2. I think he was saying a copy of X not the character Copy X. Could be wrong though.

    3. I said "a" copy X, not "that" Copy X. I would love for him to be replaced by a character that actually belongs in the X series.

I wonder why the toy lines tanked with Zero. Not enough people interested, or maybe they were tapped out of cash from the previous figures in the toy lines?

  19. How can I get this if I am not hitting up comic con? I really don't want to have to ebay this

  20. This reminds me of the Rockman Holic armor.

  21. LOL!!! Looks like for those that backed this figure (not this con exclusive) got lied to. As the blue regular version was at available for purchase there too, yet wasn't one of the things for backers that you would receive it before retail sale and such? Well looks like they lied to you.
