Solicitations for Worlds Collide #8 and #10 (Updated)

Double dose of solicitations tonight. This time, we're looking at the covers for part eight (Sonic Universe #53) and part ten (Mega Man #27). Hit the jump for the lowdown.

Mega Man 3 Now Available on Nintendo 3DS eShop in North America

In North America today you can power up your Nintendo 3DS, jump on the eShop and grab Mega Man 3 for $4.99.  As a friendly reminder, this is a standard Virtual Console release, not a "3D Classic." Nevertheless, you'll still be able to enjoy the wonderful benefits of portability and save states!

Next month, it's Mega Man 4's go followed by Mega Man 5 in May, and Mega Man 6 in June. After that, who knows! Maybe we'll get back on track with those Game Boy games, yeah?

Check Out the Powered Up Inspired "Worlds Collide" Covers

Archie Comics aren't quite ready to reveal the standard cover for "Worlds Collide" #9. In the meantime, Destructoid brings us our first look a two delightful variant covers. Click the link to check them out in all their super hi-res glory!

Illustrated by Ryan Jampole with inks by Gary Martin and colors by Matt Herms, the covers form a tantalizing, Mega Man Powered Up diptych. Head over to Ryan's deviantART for the raw pencils.

Mega Man Legends 3 Concept Album Now Available

Get Me Off the Moon is proud to announce the completion of the long awaited Mega Man Legends 3 Concept Album project. You can download it now from Bandcamp!

For the uninitiated, this project kicked off last year to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Get Me Off the Moon Facebook group. Fans were encouraged to compose music that they thought would have gone into Legends 3 had it actually been released. Meanwhile, artists would create art that they felt matched the mood of the music. At the end of the day, the album is a fantastic convergence of art, music and a dash of Mega Man Legends passion.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this possible. Swing on by Bandcamp and listen to those tracks!

NeoWiz Confirms It: Rockman Online is Dead

The closure we've been waiting for is finally here: Rockman Online is officially canned.

Neowiz confirmed the cancellation with Ruliweb this afternoon. According to the report, the project went under last November following consultation with Capcom Japan. The massive restructure of NeoWiz's own PC development workforce probably didn't help either.

So that's that. Farewell, Online. We hardly knew ye.

Rockman Unity Reboots After Technical Mishap

Your official one stop shop for all things Rockman, Rockman Unity, is getting a complete refresh. But it's not exactly the happiest of occasions. According to Capcom's Ucchy-san, the blog experienced a major technical hiccup late last week, causing articles to literally vanish. The issue has been cleared up, but at a price: the Rockman Unity archives are gone.

Year's worth of content -- D-Arts figure previews, exclusive interviews, Ucchy-san shenanigans -- are permanently gone. With no backups readily available, restoration is an impossible feat.

However, it's not all doom and gloom. With a fresh slate before them, Rockman Unity and Ucchy-san proclaim to persevere. The site isn't going anywhere, and and the man with the fuzzy blue hat will continue to deliver new content.

Thanks to Amunshen for the tip!

"Cryodrone" App Features a Shameless Mega Man.EXE Rip-Off

"Cryodrone: The Flying Jet Robot" is a free game currently available on the iOS App Store and Android Market. As you can see from the above images, it features characters bearing more than a passing resemblance to Mega Man.EXE. The game itself shares nothing in common with Battle Network -- but jiminy crickets, it sure is rubbish.

Ugly sprites, looping music, in-game ads... this one has it all. The real kicker is the option to play as other "characters", which are nothing more than recolors of the same guy. Naturally, they cost real money to use. Yeah, no thanks.

Shady titles are all but common on digital store fronts. Until some actual quality control is set in place, all we can do is blow the whistle and try to get this stuff out of sight.

Final Rockman Ultrabook Poll is Live

The third and final poll for Capcom's Rockman themed Ultrabook is up... and it's not very exciting. Simply put, you're voting on which desktop wallpapers will ship with the PC.

You know the drill: three choices and the option to suggest your own. Personally speaking, the results of this one won't matter much. They're just wallpapers. You can always change it to your pleasing. In any case, cast those votes here.

Thanks for the tip, Sam.

Rockman Xover Updates: World 6 and OVER-7

Hot on the heels of Rockman Xover's Android debut, Capcom has rolled out a new update. The patch brings forth World 6, themed after Rockman Zero. Aztec Falcon, Maha Ganeshariff, Blizzack Staggroff and Herculious Anchus are ready to put up a fight. Japanese website Gamer also hints Leviathan may be lurking around somewhere, too. Final boss, maybe?

The update also introduces the aquatic/ice based OVER-7. As per usual, this form is yours when all its parts have been gathered. You better believe those ice/water Battle Memory cards will come in handy with this guy.

Gamer's report leaves us with a teaser image of classic Rockman blasting his way through a stage. It's implied the ability to play as various Rockmen is coming in a future update. If you're not entirely fond of OVER-1 and his incarnations... well, this may be something to your liking. I'll keep you posted when we learn more.

Check out Gamer's original report for more images.

Rockman Corner Review: D-Arts Mega Man

Courtesy of Bluefin and Tamashii Nations, I have acquired my very own D-Arts Mega Man. Now that it's in my possession, I thought I'd try something new: an actual review! Mind, I'm not the best photographer; next time I'll be sure to get someone who knows what they're doing over to my place.
