Capcom Is 'Cautiously Optimistic' About MegaMan 9's Sales
Now this is interesting. Remember those awesome MM9 sales numbers? Well, Capcom has pretty much dismissed them:
“Any numbers you’ve seen or quoted are not correct. That said, I think we’re cautiously optimistic about MM9’s performance.” - Christian Svensson, Corporate Officer/VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development
So, the numbers from VGChartz are not correct, but the sales must be good enough to make Capcom "cautiously optimistic."
I'm REALLY curious now as to what the "official" numbers are.

Yet Another New SSR3 Wallpaper

Surprise, surprise.
The Wave Station has really been crapping out these wallpapers, eh?
The site updated with a new Red Joker wallpaper (right) and a few tidbits concerning SSR3's TGS appearance. Nothing we haven't heard before however.
Hopefully, worthwhile SSR3 updates soon!

Press Kits Are Shipping Out
Title says it all.Myself along with other fortunate readers, have just received e-mails confirming our copies of the MegaMan 9 Press Kit have begun shipping. Awesome.
Those who did not yet receive a promo code still have plenty of time; Capcom continues to observe Unity members who are "worthy" enough to receive the redeemable code. You can prove your worth by being an active Capcom Unity member (don't spam the boards) or personally displaying your affection.
Of course, if you're too lazy to work for the code or have over $500, there's always ebay.
More Rockman 9 Arranged Soundtrack Samples
More samples from Inti! This time around, we've got a fancy remix of Magma Man's stage (Magma Burning) and a vocalized remix of the credits.
Still, I'm not too big on the remixes. C'mon, where's the rock/techno?
Still, the soundtrack is worthy of a purchase simply because it features art by Ariga san. God bless that man.

Rockman Made Out of Legos and Win/ Details On How to Get MM9 Promo Codes
Submitted by AsianSteev, this over sized Rockman sprite is made out of bundles of Legos. Neato!Like so many others, AsianSteev is attempting to impress the folks at Capcom Unity in order to receive a MM9 Press Kit promo code. Capcom USA announced they intend to give more MM9 Press Kit promo codes away, but only to Capcom Unity members who can someone display their "affection" for Rockman:
"We still have more codes to give out, so check your messages frequently! Show us you're a Mega Man fan through 'n through. Aside from giving out more codes, we'll be making a few available through the store in time. You may find it hidden in the store now, but it's priced extremely high. Don't worry though, those receiving codes are getting a major discount. Which is a far cheaper price than you'll find anywhere else.
So if you're still hoping for a code to get your hands on one of these cartridges, there's still hope! Be an active fan here on Unity, and you may win our hearts!"-Snow
Good luck to those who're interested. Thankfully, I received my promo code and I gotta say, without it, the kit is insanely expensive. Though I'm not at liberty to share its original price...
Splash Woman and Plug Man: Ten Year Old Designs?
Were Splash Woman and Plug Man's designs influenced from two unused Robot Master contest entries? While shuffling through one of the many Rockman source books, OniCourseMusha (The MegaMan Network) discovered two peculiar Robot Master submissions from ten years ago: Mermaid Woman and Shock Man.
Mermaid Woman looks to be the spitting image of Slash Woman, but what of Shock Man? Where's the Plug Man resemblance exactly? Speculation points to the prongs on his head, which look similar to those on Plug Man's shoulders.Coincidence or not? Does Capcom owe two Japanese fans some credit?
Oh, and before you pass judgment, be sure to look at this.
(On an unrelated note, I cannot get this song out of my head! It's been driving me mad all day but I love it. Day one purchase by the way.)

Well Well, Look What's On Ebay...
Desperate to get your hands on the MegaMan 9 Press Kit? Are you willing to pay over $300 USD for it?
Then you're in luck!
Somehow, a lucky ebay seller has gotten a hold of the press kit (and T-shirt to boot) and is auctioning it off for a pretty penny:
"This limited edition retro 8-bit inspired package comes in a cardboard case shaped like a classic NES cartridge box and has a replica of an NES cartridge that has a CD-ROM disc inside. Please note the disc does not contain the Mega Man 9 game, it contains artwork, screen shots, and game information. The box features never before seen art as well as Captain Commando character pre-redesign. Capcom comissioned 8-bit artist Gerald de Jesus to design the art for this box. Mint, never opened, still in shrink wrap, featuring a retro price tag with $9.99 printed on it. Only 200 of these were available from Capcom. Also with this package comes a shirt featuring the Mega Man 9 box art. Original a run of only 4 shirts. Size XL. Never washed/worn. "

'Rockman 10th Anniversary Festival' Video Tour
I absolutely love this footage. Uploaded by my good friend 'SuperMega', the video gives us a look a the happenings at the Rockman 10th Anniversary Festival (1997) courtesy of the former Capcom Friendly Club. It's well worth a watch it, I'm more than sure you'll get a kick out of a few things. (I found the crowd's reaction to R&F's unveiling is classic. 08:55)
Part 2 will be up shortly. Thanks to SuperMega and the original NicoVideo uploader (whoever you may be).
