If you're like me, Battle Network 6 is your favorite game in the series. You know it like the back of your hand. But what if you could take everything you love about it and make it fresh and even unpredictable again?
That's the idea behind Mega Man Battle Network: Cyberworld Endless*. Created by saschb2b, the project gives Battle Network 6 a roguelike twist, generating new Cyberworld layouts with each run. You'll work through increasingly difficult areas, unlock new starting options between runs and see just how far you can push the game's Endless mode. Progress carries over, too, with additional folders, Crosses and other options unlocking over time.
Cyberworld Endless is available on PC, Steam Deck, Android, New Nintendo 3DS and even in your browser. All you need is to supply your own U.S. copy of Cybeast Gregar. You know, one of those ROM things.
*Disclaimer: Portions of this project were developed with the assistance of generative AI tools.

This is really interesting. I always wished the BN games had some kind of permanent roguelike buffs, but more to simply make the random virus encounters less annoying lol.
ReplyDeleteWhy are we giving attention to slop made with GenAI
ReplyDeleteIt has no place in creative spaces and does not deserve to be platformed in any capacity outside of shame and disgust
cuz if YOU SPEND MORE THAN A MINUTE IN THE MODDING SCENE, then you'd know that the number of mods has exploded due to devs using ai assistance or amateurs vibe modding to make whatever mods they can with that. notable examples are the explosion in recompilations and emulation hyper fast progress like PS5 emulator.
Deletemods are not arts, that art argument doesn't work here, bob, please keep your ''it's art'' argument contained to arts. next thing you're gonna start saying editing videos or photoshopping is an art, lol no.
Editing videos and using Photoshop aren't forms of art? What are you talking about? I am curious what your definition of art even is.
DeleteYeah I'm not sure where the "mods aren't art" thing is coming from. There are different kinds of mods and if they involve modifying assets, yes it can be art. Maybe not "this belongs in the Louvre" but making a good looking model and understanding design principles count for something.
