Rumor: Mega Man May Be Coming to Fortnite

After appearing in several Fortnite surveys over the years, Mega Man may finally be headed to Epic Games’ battle royale, if a new rumor pans out.

According to HYPEX, Fortnite leak sources SpushFNBR and Wensoing have reported that a Mega Man collaboration is currently “in the works.” Both are active in the Fortnite leak scene and have a history of accurately reporting upcoming content, though leaks like this often come from datamines, backend updates, or early shop-related information.

At this time, there’s no word on which version of Mega Man would appear. The classic series feels like the obvious choice, especially with Dual Override on the horizon. A Fortnite collaboration would also fit neatly into Capcom’s broader push to expand Mega Man’s visibility and introduce the IP to a wider audience.

As always, take this with a grain of salt until Epic Games or Capcom make it official. That said, Fortnite has already featured several Capcom collaborations, including Street Fighter and Resident Evil. Mega Man joining the lineup wouldn’t be too far-fetched.

We’ll keep an eye out for more details.

  1. Sounds like it's time to get equipped with Credit Card, since I can see them doing stuff like a Rush Glider and all kinds of options for pickaxes, and I guess a Lego version of Megaman would be included as well, since that seems to be the case for newer characters from my understanding. It'd be neat to see stuff like X and Zero as a bundle, but I understand how they'd rather push the Classic series for now with Dual Override on the horizon and also just having Classic licensed in Sonic Crossworlds.

  2. Interestingly, this rumor has resurfaced. I remember hearing it during the COVID lockdown, and now it's back again, meaning it might actually be true, but the company is hesitant to cooperate, otherwise they wouldn't have revived this rumor.

  3. This would had been cool a couple of years ago, but Fortnite just isn't prestigious anymore after they fired +1000 employees and this is constantly reflected in the quality of the updates

But you know, let Mega Man hit the griddy

    1. Yeah, I feel the same. If it really does expand Mega Man's visibility, great, but it seems like striking after the iron has gone cold. Not to mention Epic Games recently revealed plans to drive everyone away from Unreal Engine. That company has just been a dumpster fire ever since it launched the Epic Store to utterly fail at competing with Steam.

  4. It's probably gonna be Classic Mega Man, but I hope they do X, Zero & Axl instead. They're tall enough and they wouldn't be as whack with the guns like Classic Would. Idk, we'll see.

    1. Once he ends up in RAID: Shadow Legends, only then will he have suffered enough.

  6. Cool. I'm not playing Fortnite.

  7. While classic is my favorite series I'd say characters from the X series are more fitting within fortnite than Classic, and asides a good portion of Fortnite's playerbase is from regions where the X series is more popular than the Classic series.
