Capcom announced today that it will return to Gamescom, the world’s largest gaming event, when the show kicks off in Cologne on August 26. This will also mark the first time that Mega Man: Dual Override will be playable by the public.
In addition, throughout the show Capcom will host several live streams in English, while German audiences will be able to watch daily broadcasts produced and presented by Rocket Beans TV. With that much coverage planned, there’s a very good chance we’ll see new gameplay footage from the game during the event.

DeleteIf AI does it better and cheaper, then good, I hope it is used, and competition wins in the end. Tired of the technophobia lately, especially since this is Megaman, which is all about robots and AI. It's the future, whether some pesky regressive non-competitive old-fashioned inefficient unions or individuals like it or not. It isn't tech that is the issue, but our economic system that needs updated new deal style as tech races ahead. Unions never seem to fight for systemic changes like a better HC system or safety nets, but like preserving the status quo cog in the wheel rat race, even holding consumers hostage with strikes which will only encourage automation faster. They can't compete with automated non-unions that are better for customers.
DeleteTech is one critical ingredient to making it affordable (and forcing us) to evolve our econ model since , including better safety nets and reducing work week length (still need consumers to keep it going as labor for income decouples), and even lowering costs of living with adequate competition or allowing for more goods and services to be produced, or even getting more goods and services with the same or less tax dollars, and even needed to compete with other nations and China.
I like futurism. If one doesn't like better tech, they can live in the mountains or go live in the low tech poverty-stricken Congo or Zimbabwe (technophobe paradise). The 1st world isn't for them. We need to evolve and enter a new age and past our existing primitive era, and this is coming from someone born in the early 80s.
Do you want AI to use the restroom for you too? Just because it can do that better? Do you want AI doing everything for every bit of your life? So you can be lazier and lazier? How ai uses stolen art to make it's "own"? Remember what happened to Legends 3 too? I love Mega Man. We just have to be really careful what capcom does now. A human will always be needed for things too. What if the ai goes rouge at some point? What if ai stole your art and made money from it?
DeleteAnd yes I'm 44 born in 81 myself. In life you can't expect AI to do everything for you. That is what they all are trying to do someday too. And now is just a step to that. Even E33 used it. What if the ai puts you out of a job to where you can't earn a living too? I wish that on NO ONE too. It will make somethings easier at that price of making other things harder.
Unions nowadays aren't very radical, unfortunately. A lot of them are staffed by people more interested in moving up the corporate ladder than they are serving their members. I recognize the general necessity of unions, but I'm not going to lie and say they're anything close to perfect. My dad had plenty of clashes with the local American Postal Workers' Union.

I've heard all these arguments before by laymen on the topic and they get old. First off, to address Terra's traditionalist response, no one ever said have AI do everything for us. That would be boring. I like to learn and exercise and think for myself. I am talking about just the idea of labor for income, also it can lower costs of living in the long run with competition and make better goods and services, even find cures by process years of data in days, and competing with other nations is a must (global competition will force it).
DeleteAs for art, people can do it as a hobby since doing it for money will lose meaning. If people weren't bound by the labor for income paradigm thanks to super tech (we are not there yet), the sky is the limit and maybe people would actually have time and the desire to pay attention to other things, like relationships, be watch dogs or get involved in politics more to keep it in check, explore, self improve, hobbies and personal projects, etc, like many retired folks do, but maybe the econ end game could be a retired from birth lifestyle for those who want but with less monetary constraints and more tech empowerment. Go study post labor economics. Big pain will happen in the interim, no doubt, like any major changes throughout history
Such changes to our system won't be done to be nice, but because the alternative is companies will lose consumers and sales and go out of business + mass revolution, just as the great depression forced the new deal.
I am typing this manually; not relying on AI at all here. I would not ever promote that anyone replaces their individuality or critical thinking. Also AI is just the tip of the iceberg. Robots, better mechanization, making things to last, more efficient methods, do it yourself tech, digitization, even EVs that don't have as many moving parts means less repair people needed. Advanced self driving means less accidents and less repairs which means less need for traffic cops, insurance workers, hospital staff, vehicle repair people, infrastructure repair people, insurance workers, lawyers, etc. Curing diseases also means less need for as many doctors. Not sure why people only focus on AI. Many things will reduce labor demand. That lack of critical deep thinking and hating on AI is lazy.
Also, the concept of 'lazy' is a subjective nebulous term and there are many ways to be lazy. I personally will not use it for everything, but I'm talking about the economy, but if someone chooses to, that is their life and their choice. Just like many retired folks may chose to be lazy. Also people who are gonna be lazy will be no matter the system or circumstances, just as some employees can be. But the only chance we have of evolving beyond commodification of people and the labor for income rat race is much better tech rendering it obsolete (the great decoupling is already happening). Many don't even have time for relationships because they have to work too much, and how depressing is that? We need to enter a new age.
Better tech and the require systemic changes are key, and this won't be the first time we changed our system historically, but it will be done the hard way after much pain, no doubt, like the industrial revolution, the new deal, 69 civil rights revolution, etc. Hopefully not as bad as the French revolution or American civil war though or mutiny Caesar style, but sometimes pain and learning the hard way is the best way and needed to push society to change in the right direction.
A new era is coming, like it or not. Don't like it, then you can choose to go low tech on your own private property even in the far future just as many do now.
If genAI ever becomes useful, it'll follow the same trajectory as home automation and the Internet of Things. For an entire decade, that technology just gave us the worst version of Megaman Battle Network with appliances pointlessly connected to the internet and no NetNavis to fix all the problems that brings. But then corporations got bored with it and we finally got Home Assistant, an open source software suite that allows you to set up a personal closed-loop network where you don't have to contact a server halfway across the planet to flip a light switch.
DeleteGenAI could have a similarly useful niche. You could use it to create your own personal librarian and assistant by running it locally on a laptop and tightly controlling what material it learns from. As it is now though, it's a technology that just plain doesn't work and is sold just like the pivot-to-video scam that Facebook perpetuated around 2015. It's a bunch of empty hype like the metaverse and NFTs were, with zero chance of replacing humans in task or voice acting or art or anything else. We can't get anywhere close to making a real life reploid when we barely have any idea how the human brain works, and mindlessly mashing data together will at best give you something like Gospel, the multi-bug organism and final boss of Megaman Battle Network 2.

DeleteI did have a nice sized drink, but I mean what I say: No, what I said has evidence and is demonstrable. I even gave examples throughout history and how competition forces it. People who cannot get with the times and think beyond the current paradigm deserve to be spoken down since regressives are cringe and cause harm. DeleteI been out of college for over 20 years, and back then, had no clue about the stuff I'm talking about now, so I learn it on my own. I never been to university; just lowly community college. So don't get the wrong idea since I'm a nobody and no elitist and don't desire to be a somebody. I'm happy being unnoticed and not having much. Time, healthy, and intelligence is the true wealth. I was even religious back then, but not anymore at all. Foolish of me. These days especially, I'm open minded to changing as I learn more, unlike most or you or how tribalist this species still is, sadly.. But unlike you, I can think beyond the era I was born in and don't have nostalgia bias of have a labor for income attachment like you do (the sooner tech eliminates that need and forces new econ paradigms, the better). Either evolve your mind into the times, or be left behind. The economy will evolve without you no matter what even if people like you want to hold us back and lack the imagination to think beyond the current paradigm.
I will add: The world is gonna change no matter, so you already lost if your goal is to hinder evolution. So what I say doesn't matter. You will see just as if you paid attention, you would notice how much has changed in just our life time of 40+ years. I notice a lot of change and would never go back to no internet and other stuff. Those who try to halt tech and systemic progress lose. They deserve to be opposed and talked down for trying to keep us in the stone age and harm us (too conservative and not adaptable and that causes real harm and endangers our survival as a species and tackling 21st century problems), and these days, I have a low tolerance for many doing that, whether it is regressive technophobes or religious fundies, etc. Keeping the status quo harms us, and in fact, makes us worse over time, and for decades, the status quo has not changed much, which why in some ways, we are having more issues these days and people are having it harder than they should.
Anyways, I said my piece. Evolve your mindset, or don't. I will keep learning and changing. Megaman stories are right about one thing. The theme is 'evolve and enter a new age'. It's correct. And this old world needs to be updated as it has many times throughout history. Competition will force it. Get ready. We live in interesting times and I'm gonna enjoy the show, and order and chaos in balance is nice to watch. Some chaos is needed to force some change and prevent stagnation.
@Terra Yeah, I figured that out pretty quick. It's funny; people who don't understand how technology works praise it as their lord and savior, while people who do understand technology know better than to trust it. A tech enthusiast gushes about how they're living on the cusp of the future, while a tech worker keeps a loaded gun next to their printer so they can shoot it if it makes a noise they don't recognize. There's something to be said for being stuck in the past when you remember how the Amish were completely unaffected when America plunged into The Great Depression.

Deletehumans steal art all the time. there can actually be an AI that finds stolen art. the only thing AI really changes is everything is happening faster. people use references, tracings, and straight up steal art all the time, now it can be done faster, along with 100,000 other things.
Liking tech or not has nothing to do with knowing much about it or not. We all could learn about tech more. We are all using it just to post here. I do assemble my own desktop and buy parts online. I'm using my custom built desktop with a big screen to type this (it's all I use on most sites and when at home). Better than any phone in most ways.
DeleteOf course you shouldn't blindly trust all tech and should investigate it, and it can't hurt to have low tech back up methods, so I often wait years before I buy certain parts (I waited years before buying my first SSD drive) so they work out the kinks and get the prices down. Of course tech alone is not sufficient for certain things (systemic changes are needed too) and is a double edged sword, but it is the user that is mostly to blame for misusing it. Of course some of it can be hype and I will only be truly excited once it reaches the market and proves itself. Good to be skeptical of tech claims and hype.
Often it is people who don't know much about tech (or history) who fear it most. Often the trend is people fear it, then later, don't know how they could live without it, rinse and repeat, I notice. I'm by no means saying one should blindly trust anything, and being first to buy it is not best, good to have back up methods, and knowing how to do things manually at times can be good too. All the above.
I'm typing all this on a keyboard. Sadly some people like to mindlessly copy/paste whatever AI says and without a source or fact checking. Not me. Sometimes I may screenshot it or go by it (sources are attached often now), but usually I look at other sources too and use my own words manually. A good mental exercise too, just like remembering numbers vs writing them down when I go shopping and buy some bulk items, then I repeat them to the cashier. I also like riding bicycle for exercise manually, lifting weights no machine (free bar makes you work stabilizing muscles, which is better than the machine). Or you can have a leaf blower, but a back up low tech broom can be good.

DeleteYes, not all change is good. But I would rather live now than the 1800s. New ages and changes will happen no matter what in any case. Also I will say that hopefully we don't have a nuke war in the interim or things, we develop asteroid defense, etc. I advocate people think for themselves too. Of course MM is fiction as well. But it is kind of bad ass how the antagonists character always talk about evolving and entering a new age, though the problem is their method of doing it is bad and genocidal, hence the heroes must stop them. Light wanting a new world seemed like the good way, but Sigma, Lumine, Serpent, Albert, Thomas, Elpizo, Dr Vile, etc wanted to change it the bad way and some for self serving purposes at the cost of everyone else and in a genocidal way, while others were just influenced by a virus or other being. Bad ass though.
DeleteSpeaking of tech, I believe in internet anonymity, so even though FB doesn't like that, I won't put my last name or real b day on there. I like internet security. so much easier to make accounts on it in 2010. I have a few (a couple alt accounts on top) to bypass certain things or get around blocks. Anyways, these days, FB AI bots banning people's accounts upon creation and asking for appeals while letting bots take over the platform is out of hand. As for active AI profiles, it should be required that the profile lists itself as AI since I can tell some of the female models are AI based on the skin and movement. In 'some' ways, FB Was better 10 years ago. No way in hell would I take a pic of my ID and upload it to them just to make a new account, even asking for a video selfie, and even that is no guarantee to allow a new account. FB needs more competition to push it in a better direction vs too many mergers these days. Mergers are getting out of hand.
DeleteAlso when downloading files, I scan it with malwarebytes (free version). I don't want a keylogger on my system getting any passwords, even though I make them strong. Though win 10 and Win 11 is pretty secure vs older windows OS. I hear Mac (at least back then) doesn't get infected since most hackers target Windows with malware, but I prefer Windows and its diversity for many programs and compatibility. As of now, I have win 11 overlaid on top of Win 10 - upgraded my CPU last year and motherboard and new system to make it compatible and for security reasons since Win 10 stopped releasing security updates last October.
Funny enough, for about 2 decades, sometimes I use torrents for certain movies or shows, but never got in trouble, but I don't let it seed after I leech to minimize chances. Maybe my ISP (from a nearby city of only around 10,000+ people) helps since ISPs may have different policies. Using a proxy with a certain port, maybe SOCKS5 can help protect, but that can slow the download a lot too, and a good VPN may require payment and has limitations too. Or enable encryption. As for watching movies, VLC player for 20 years now is better than Windows media player, just as Chrome is much better than MS browsers, even if it can be a memory hog (firefox as a back is good too, but cleartype text quality seems to not appear there, or I may have to explore it to figure it out or look up answers).
Won't argue there on the villains thing. I'm biased cuz I like Sigma, though.

DeleteSpeaking of that, I like Sigma too, or the idea that Wily lives on through the virus too in some way, so in the X series, Wily is a whole new level of evil. Maybe merging with it or some evil energy (if evil energy is part of the virus) in it along with no longer being human, made Wily far more evil than in the classic series. Also for 100 years before Zero awoken after X, Wily's awareness lingering on in the virus (maybe dormant for a time along with Zero). Even in X5, Sigma mentions how Wily appears in Zero's dreams, meaning Wily told him and it is not a simple dream, but Wily is actively in there trying to influence Zero. Even since X4, I noticed that. Also I think in X5, Sigma and Wily shared the Final Sigma W body, and the skull (like a motif) was called ?? (not Sigma) and said 'drop dead'. In that instance, I think it is safe to say it was Wily speaking. Wily in Zero's mind also told Zero to get up after he used the shuttle on Eurasia. Isoc was also called ?? after the disembodied voice left the avatar and told Zero to go, he is the strongest robot (Wily's Japanese MM8 actor and all did Isoc). Wily being able to possess bodies kind of like Sigma living on in a kind of AI form like Light does. It's neat. Also Sigma gets more evil with each X game, it seems, and a unique body in X8. I think X8 was good.

You can see Dr Vile's evil grin and the embryonic body of the model V core in ZX before it is dug up, and the red spot like a huge eye on the side (the piece which was his 2nd form in Zero 4, as if it tried to reform and failed to do so properly). Agreed. Almost no one wants to live the low standard of living or quality of life of Amish. I would argue every day for them is like a kind of great depression with such a lifestyle, so it's kind of hard to be affected by a national great depression when they are living in a self-induced one in their community since they have little to lose already. Also Amish likely still depend on the surrounding society for some things, even our roads. No man is an island. Amish in any case sounds boring. I think most of us here can agree we would not want that limited lifestyle.
