We first saw a prototype of Hiya Toys' Exquisite Basic Series Sigma a while back, and now we have our first proper look at the final figure.
Based on Sigma’s appearance in the original Mega Man X, the figure stands approximately 18cm tall and features his familiar green shoulder and chest armor, red chest gem, silver spiked wristbands, and knee guards. It also includes a real fabric red cape, along with replacement back armor parts that allow for both caped and uncaped display options.
Accessories include three interchangeable face parts, two interchangeable shoulder armor parts, three pairs of hands, a saber grip, a belt-mounted saber holder, and two illuminated saber effect parts. The figure also features magnetic soles for added stability when displayed on metal surfaces.
Sigma is expected to release in Q3 2027 for 119.99 USD (US Tariff Included). You can find more images here. UPDATE: Pre-orders are now available on Big Bad Toystore.
This is really cool! He's looks so good, the fabric cape really takes the cake over Kotobukiya's. The only personal issue I have with him is his height.
ReplyDeleteHe looks cool and I'm glad we now have more Sigma options besides Bandai's Figuarts Zero, but I still wish they moved past his X1 design. I'd love to have his X5 base body and X8 too.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. They always use the same designs for action figures. At least Kotobukiya went beyond X1 and X4 designs.
DeleteHis X5 design is great. I like that it's not super garish-looking like most of the others up until that point.
DeletePls give poseable figure!
Koto is probably the best bet to release something different. They always take more chances with their kits.
DeleteIs there any news on whether this will be available through Hobbylink Japan?
ReplyDeleteHHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm gonna buy it.
ReplyDeleteAnd seeing this, I am reminded that in X6, it was memorable when Gate said 'Sigimaonai' (the evil Sigma). Maybe it was pronounced 'Sigiamonai' because the adjective 'evil' was before the noun. Not sure. But it sticks in my mind.
ReplyDeleteInstead of Shiguma, you mean?
DeleteIt sounded like Gate said 'Sigimaonai' but I could have misheard. But the text said 'I brought back the evil Sigma'.
DeleteOf course Sigma would have resurrected anyways since Sigma did say he did not die nor need his help, even though after spreading his viral self thin in X5 and then being destroyed, he was temporarily brain damaged in behavior in X6. Probably why his mind in X8 seems destroyed for good...because he gave most of his viral self to the new gens and most of it to Lumine (the solid tentacle substance being a highly concentrated amount of the virus), so did not have enough of the virus for his mind to survive or be restored (no second form battle body in X8 either, so probably intended in X8 while new gens carry on his legacy and virus, despite acting surprised when killed, unless betrayed and altered too much by Lumine).
