Rockman 6 Coming to Wii U VC in Japan Next Week

The Wii U's Virtual Console in Japan already got Rockman 5 last month, and next week on the 13th, it will be joined by Rockman 6: The Greatest Battle in History!! for 514 Yen. So a week from Wednesday, all six classics will be available on Wii U in Japan.

Meanwhile in the west, we've still been waiting a long time for these games. We know they're working on them, though.

  3. It's strange to think that if Mega Man 6 gets released on WiiU VC over here in Europe it'll be the 1st time it's been legitimately available since it never saw a release here back in the day! Although I am looking forward to them putting Mega Man 7 on there since it should be a decent port unlike the Anniversary Collection version with the botched ending sequence... between that & the possibility of Mega Man & Bass seeing a legit console release on VC + Mega Man Zero series on the big screen.. some good times ahead!

Make that the second. Mega Man 6 was released in Europe through the 3DS Virtual Console last year in June.

  4. Sucks we have to pay full price now...6 didn't even get a chance on the Wii VC...life just isn't fair, sometimes.

  5. Always happy to see a classic be preserved.

Mega Man 6 had the really unfortunate distinction of being done up at the very end of the NES' lifespan - so late that even Capcom wasn't going to bring it stateside (Nintendo did for them). If it just had a little more time afforded to be developed with the guarantee of the NES still being viable on the market, it really would have been phenomenal.

As it stands, it just does quite a few nifty things with the Rush suits (you'd be surprised how many things are uniquely affected by Power) and alternate routes - it's highly playable still and I hope everyone's up for checking it out.
