At long last, we have our first look at the final, completed Blokees Champion Class Star Force Mega Man and Zero kits, and boy, do they look great.
We’re not entirely sure where these images were taken, though SDCC seems like a safe bet. Either way, it’s nice to finally see both kits in their finished form.
There’s still no firm release date, but if a previous statement from a Blokees representative holds true, they should launch sometime between late August and mid-September.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it ironic there's more merchandise now with less game releases than in the late 80's- early 2000 era when we'd get a new one every other year.
ReplyDeleteThat's just the way things are anymore, to be honest. Gaming was super niche in the past but very much mainstream and starting to hit the point where cape movies and all that were with stuff like the Mario and Sonic movies leading the charges these days to expand to fans that aren't just limited to game releases, which is something Miyamoto himself said is why Nintendo is now shifting focus from games to doing movies on their IPs as they feel they've reached their max audience with consoles and games.
DeleteNow, as someone who grew up during Nintendo Mania and the Console Wars and all those fun times during the 80s and 90s, I would have LOVED to have had even 1/10th of what the kids today have. Back in the 90s my only real Sonic figure was either a topper from a bubble bath or one with a ring in each hand that was on a motorcycle and I was in the toy aisles searching all the time. There was an X4 Hotwheel with a decal on it, but that's not like having an X or Zero or Vile figure, which wouldn't come for another 10-15 years until Jazzware I think started doing them around the mid-00s? Even the Mario figures I wanted were either from Happy Meals or some older 80s releases of some World of Nintendo figures or something that were limited release in the grand scheme of time.
Now it's 20XX and I have basically a statue of Dr. Eggman to hold my controllers on my desk, tons of Sonic merch my family buys in the store and brings home that adorns my desk and room, endless amiibo since those used to be a thing that was $12 a pop, as well as some higher end Final Fantasy statues and plushes since this stuff is all over the place now that these companies are entertainment giants instead of where they came from. If anything, I really do Monkey Paw wish that this was the timeline where Megaman had the Sonic merch treatment and wasn't so obscure, since I want more of it, and not just an X2 throw blanket that only says "Megaman X" on it with the 2 edited out and a $30 price tag.
I forgot about those Mc Donalds Mario toys. I remember Nintendo released a few Mario dioramas. The one I had was Mario and a Hammer Brother with the 8-3 brick background. I cherished that piece for years. I also had a few Sonic square holofoil stickers. Around 97 I started importing VG soundtracks and kept players guides because of the artwork inside.
