Mega Man and Co. Appearing in Capcom's "Sound Rangers" (Updated)

Sound Rangers: Rhythm & Battle! is a new IP from Capcom for iOS. It's a traditional RPG that blends Power Ranger antics with rhythm-based gameplay a la Elite Beat Agents. Soon, though, the game is about to get an infusion of Mega Man.

Starting December 9th, Capcom will kick off a special Mega Man-themed event featuring Classic series characters and music...

From December 9th to December 25th, Sound Rangers players can encounter stages featuring 8-bit Mega Man music and characters. Additionally, arrangements from We are Rock-Men! will accompany boss stages. You can check out some samples here.

UPDATE: The Mega Zord was inevitable...

Sound Rangers is free-to-play, so it's entirely possible to download it regardless of region. You'll need to sign-up for a Japanese iTunes account, though. Instructions here.

  3. In the top-most image, what the heck is that robot behind Rush?
Or is it a Ruch-Mech Suit, seeing as how it appears that Rush's head is sticking out of its chest area?

  4. Well, I also see Tango's leg, and the opposite side has the Wily Machine,

So as crazy as this might sound, logically, it would be some sort of giant mech. Maybe not exactly Voltron, but the Megaman equivalent of it.

  5. If it is a mech, it looks like it's some kind of Rush Mech. I admit, I'm kind of curious about that.

    1. Roll, Roll, ROLL!! Should they add Kaze yo Tsutaete in the mix?

    2. Eh, why not! If they can make a stage using that tune, I say go for it!

  7. Kinda looks like an Eddie mixed with Rush and Beat.

I'm all for a fusion of support animals.

Either that or it's an off model shield attacker or off model Eddie his feet turned premixed, or a very original reinterpretation dyed Ripot... or just original.

    1. For now, yes.. Its Jap-only release.

By the way, this is so useless game. Jeez!

    2. It doesn't look so bad, I'd recommend it for rhythm game fans. And it certainly is more interesting and entertaining than xover.

  9. That's the same art from Rockman Complete Works, but more shiny...

  10. I'm sorta late to comment, but the Rush/combo mech thing is when you fill up your special meter, so it's your special attack. Every "ranger" has a mech they call on and this is the mega man equivalent. The design is interesting to me...somehow it reminds me of the depiction of the devil in Dante's Inferno... But Otoren is a fun game, I really enjoy it.
