Back in March, Hiya Toys offered a first look at their 1/12-scale X figure, rumored to kick off a new line of licensed Mega Man X figures under the "Exquisite Basic" banner. Today, that rumor is confirmed—with an updated preview of X, plus the debut of Zero and Sigma at the San Diego Comic Con.
Though still in the prototype stage, the figures give us a clear idea of what's to come. X features multiple swappable hands and faces, along with X-Buster effect parts. Zero, styled after his X2 appearance, includes similar accessories and alternate pieces for his Z-Saber. Sigma is based on his X1 design and comes with his own interchangeable hands, faces, and saber effects.
No pricing or release details have been announced yet, but we'll be keeping a close watch for more info.

I LOVE X's proportions here. He looks like a regular guy while still keeping his design and it's fantastic.
ReplyDeleteZero is looking a lil too thick and Sigma is looking a lil too thin tho
Maybe a touch too thin, yeah. I still like it a lot, though. :3
DeleteI like the thinness honestly. I personally like the proportions to be an in between of X and like Star Force
DeleteI meant for Sigma. :B
DeleteI appreciate the attempt at scale with Sigma. Wish he had a face that wasn’t a form of smile, but it suits him. Not sure why he has a Millennium Puzzle from Yu-Gi-Oh!
ReplyDeleteX seems furthest along and Sigma the least far, so I’m doubting they’d all go up at once. Also LOL @ X having 3 normal forearms.
I think the triangular thing is a part of that thingy on Sigma's back - the one those two spikes are coming out of.
DeleteOh yeah, that little widget. Weird they’d have that separate from the back spikes though. Unless… optional parts for Maverick Hunter Sigma? Could it be?
DeleteAs someone who's been collecting kotobukiya's stuff these don't appeal to me, but still pretty cool
ReplyDeleteOn that note it's been a while since we've seen an update from them
White Axl should be out soon. But yeah, feels like something new should be coming up. Hopefully Pile Driver and Scramble Thunder can escape development hell.
DeleteYeah. Ditto.
DeleteI wanna see Kotobukiya's Sigma in color and in scale.
whatcha mean development hell? they're currently in my private warehouse for HLJ...
DeleteOh my bad. I remember hearing about PO’s going down, and still no sign of them on AmiAmi, so I assumed it was still the case. :U
DeleteBack when they re-issued Zero, and he was sold out everywhere, Koto US had pre-orders open. So I nabbed one. It has yet to ship and it's been over a year... I'm pretty sure it's not coming :(
DeleteBTW, if you want a full weapon set for Axl, I made a 3D model of the Double Bullets you can print. It's on Thingiverse.
So, there's a plethora of armors and mavericks and brands keep making the same blue X and Zero as if there aren't enough already? Over and over and over...
ReplyDeleteI would say its a good thing that there's an option for people who aren't comfortable with model kits, but yeah there are like 3 brands selling the same figures
DeleteWhy does x have three arms and no x buster? thats a bit odd
ReplyDeleteIt’s a preview for X9. Instead of changing his forearm into a buster, he’ll just hold his regular forearm with his offhand, and fire increasingly larger fists instead of charged shots. /s
DeleteMaybe it's NOT his arm? Maybe it's Green Biker Dudes? And he is gonna use it to club some Maverick's skull in.
