Mega Man Legends Timelines #1 Variant Covers and Solicitation

We’ve already seen the standard cover for Mega Man Legends Timelines #1—now it’s time to check out the three variant covers. From left to right: Variant B by Bacun, Variant C by Jeffrey "Chamba" Cruz, and Variant D, which is a Transformers: The Movie-inspired piece that unites Mega Men from across the Timelines universe.

Here's the solicitation:

Far in the future, the Digger known as MegaMan Volnutt has discovered a valuable artifact from the distant past. Could it be the secret to unlocking a long-forgotten technology? The thieving Tron Bonne just wants to know… how much is it worth!? It’s an all-new adventure in the Halcyon Days!

Mega Man Legends Timelines #1 is slated to arrive in stores on October 22nd.

  1. These variants are like tribbles...

That said, that Transformers cover is hilarious. I kinda want it.

  4. Question is, why the bloodshot eye K Rool style for Teisel? It might look cool, but I wonder what kind of disorder would cause that. Some trauma to one side of the head causing blindness from one eye bulging glaucoma style? Also googling it and playing the game will show he has red machine eyes. They are not human eyes at all.

    1. The humorous answer is that he stays up too late playing video games. Repeatedly.
The real answer is because Capcom said so.

It doesn't matter. The character (spoiler) isn't human. None of em are. Save maybe one. Who may or may not be alive. And which I don't care enough to look it up.
So the rules of eye disease don't matter.

  5. It seems that the Mega Man Legends comic is going to be an original story set before the events of Legends 2.

  6. I love every one of these! I gotta get that Transformers tribute just to troll my Mega Man hater friends. Never understood why it was Magnus on the cover and not Hot Rod though….

    1. Maybe from an early script. Or they just wanted to focus on the most expensive toy.

    2. Though speaking of Hot Rod, kinda wish they had support robots or something in Rodimus’/Wheelie’s places.

  8. On an off topic note, the following fan made project looks neat, sounds good, good details too (good explosions and effects and looks better than SNES): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsYqlyqVAl8

    1. Ah, Reminiscence. I really like the music in that one, uses DS sound which gives it more quality and identity compared to your average X fangame, but keeps it firmly in chiptunes and doesn’t go full CD quality (which isn’t bad, but not my preference for pixel games).

Game looks good too. One thing that kinda irks me: X’s portrait on the top left. The light blue part curves up towards the back, when it should stay straight as per X8. You can see on the in-game sprite and the channel icon.

  9. The one with more realistic proportions on the middle is so cool. I like the first on, but it's a bit too "cute" looking for megaman legends, i feel like it would fit megaman classic more, or a powered up artstyle. The third one has a really nice layout with all the megamen shooting up but it feels a little flat, i wish we got a bit more crazy perspective to emphasize the center of attention on them.
