Keisuke Mizuno is Doing the Box Art for Kotobukiya's X Model Kit (Update)

UPDATE: Hi-res version added!

From the figures, posters and albums to his work on Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1+2, artist Keisuke Mizuno is quickly becoming synonymous with the Mega Man X series. His latest handiwork will be featured on the package for Kotobukiya's upcoming 1/12 scale X model kit, seen above. Spiffy stuff, no?

This won't be the last time you'll see Mizuno take on the X series. No, sir. There's something else brewing right now that he has a major hand in. It's not going to be what you think it is, though...

  1. Nice. The Zero series Zero kit had awesome packaging artwork by Nakayama himself, so I'm glad to see that the trend of high-quality packaging continues.

  2. I honestly don't mind him taking over and becoming a major part of the brand. At all. He has a way of capturing that distinctive "X" feeling with his illustrations, which is really freaking important for making new games that feel right with the old canon.

Though I have to say, I'm mostly a fan of his "Ver. Ke" designs, not the pieces made for the X Legacy Collections. Something wrong with the proportions in those. This one doesn't seem to have that problem, though!

  3. Dissapoined that is not Suetsugu's art. That has to be my favorite artist in regards of Mega Man X artwork.

    1. A crappy mobile game with X. Oh boy. After MM11 it seemed like Capcom was beginning to take MM seriously again...

    2. My guess is that it will be a running game similar to Sonic Dash, but with Ride Chasers, and both the bike and pilot can shot.

    3. My only prolbem with mobile games, is preservation.

Once the servers go down or the game stops being officially supported, you can no longer play it. We've seen it happen with nearly every major mobile game.

Unless this is a single player game like the godawful IOS X1 port, odds are whatever this is will suffer the same fate every other mobile game does... you wont be able to play it after a while.

      So I agree

  7. This guy's art is amazing. I collect anything Rockman X manga related as well, but I gotta say, I could never get into Iwamoto's weird ass art, so I'm happy he's taking over.

    1. I really dislike Iwamoto's stuff. he just draws the characters in impossible poses, and nothing agrees perspective wise. It feels really sloppy.

    2. i quite like how is coloring is recently (though it's really different from other X serie material), but i prefer the proportions used by other artists, such as Mizuno here.
