Lost in a barren wasteland, the heroic Reploid Zero fights on! The world he knows is gone, but a new future is rising, and it needs protection. Enter a dynamic new era of Mega Man history!
This issue marks Ian Flynn’s return to writing Mega Man, his first story since the Archie Comics series. Artwork is by Hanzo Steinbach, who also provides Cover A and C, while Cover B is illustrated by Jeffrey 'Chamba' Cruz.
Mega Man Zero Timelines #1 is expected to go on sale in July.
Nice to see Chamba featured in the cover art.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I think Cover B might be my new favorite. Four Guardians look like they’re dropping the hottest diss track.
ReplyDeleteWhew, these are all really good
ReplyDeletewow, these are actually pretty nice! the middle one kinda messed up levi, but it covers it's flaws well with style.
ReplyDeleteOverall, pretty good. A much better selection than the X and Classic comics imo
ReplyDeleteAh, something I noticed about Cover C that bothers me: there’s two Z-Sabers! One on its own, and one in the Buster Shot. And there’s actually a design for the Buster Shot without the Z-Saber…
ReplyDeleteOh gosh. Now I can’t unsee it
DeleteZero has two Z-Sabers. Or whatever those things are. One stored in each hip.
DeleteIt's a shame, too. I would have loved to see him dual wield. That was a missed opportunity and would have made for some fast paced awesome combat mechanics.
@shrap
DeleteI’ll admit, I forgot the Shield Boomerang and the Rods were Z Saber “transformations.” Though there’s only ever two Recoil Rods in artwork, and just one in-game. But this is *also* artwork, so, eh.
Yeah, but the game also has you assign one weapon to each hand. So while Zero never dual wields the saber or the recoil rod in game, he is dual wielding two weapons.
Delete…I never considered the weapons right hand/left hand, but it does make some sense. Also with Model HX and FX, though ZX is the same weapon for the buster and sword that transforms.
DeleteI had a conversation with my local comic shop owner the other day that was interesting: The value of these comics with multiple covers, it's always cover A that is worth the most. Not because it is rarest, but because it is the cover associated with the book.
ReplyDeleteTake that for what it is.
For this one, I like Cover C. Or the right one. Whatever it is.
yeah, definitely the best one in the set

ReplyDeleteThe reason the Z-Saber is inserted in the Buster Shot is because the gun doesn't natively have X-Buster technology. The Z-Saber is basically acting as a plug-n and conduit for charging shots.
